Big Air Shougang

November 29 to December 1, 2024-2025 FIS Snowboard & Freeski Big Air World Cup Shougang-Beijing, will be held in Big Air Shougang - Big Air Yesterday, the athletes of various countries have begun on the track Acclimatize to the field. Soon, Su Yiming will appear in the Big Air! 

This competition, as an International A-Class event, is also a qualifying points competition for the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics. The results of this competition will be included in the athletes' world rankings. It is expected that 175 ski athletes from 31 countries and regions around the world will compete fiercely here, including top athletes such as Su Yiming, a gold medalist from the Beijing Winter Olympics, Bill Koch, and Swiss star Mathilde Gremaud, all vying for a 'ticket' to the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics.

The 2024/25 FIS Park & Pipe big air season gets underway this weekend at the Big Air Chur, where we can once again expect an explosive two-day celebration of music, art and the world’s very finest big air snowboarders and freeskiers sending it large in Graubunden’s capital city. 

Chur will be the first of what is shaping up to be the biggest big air season in World Cup history, with five competitions on the calendar for snowboard, and six lined up for freeski, taking us to Europe, Asia and North America. 

With those stops showing off an exciting mix of classic and fresh venues on this season’s World Cup tour, the fact that the qualification period for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games is now in swing, and with the Engadin-St. Moritz 2025 World Championships looming as the final Park & Pipe event of the season in March, there’s plenty to be hyped about this winter.

No.1 Furnace SoReal Amusement Park

No.1 Furnace SoReal Amusement Park is a fully immersive sci-fi complex themed around the Chinese sci-fi story "Qitian spacecraft". In terms of renovation and design, the original architectural structure and industrial style of the Shougang century-old blast furnace relics have been maximally preserved. It was selected as one of the "Top Ten Integration Cases of Beijing Tourism" in October this year.

The park has a wide range of technological scenes, including 5G, edge computing, AR, VR, AI, digital twins, holographic images, etc., covering future technology parks, theme shows, art exhibitions, restaurants, bars, and other formats.

Projects such as the Secret Spaceship Launch Base, Ecological Jungle, and VR Human-Machine Battle Games allow visitors to immerse themselves in the game, and real-life NPC interactions make it seem like they have really traveled to outer space.

No.3 Furnace

The No.3 Furnace of Shougang has been transformed into a multi-functional complex integrating museums, exhibition halls, and bookstores, while retaining its industrial system and grand structure. Climbing up to the 40-meter observation deck of the No.3 Furnace, visitors can overlook the blend of industrial relics and natural scenery, and experience the "steel temperature". On the first floor of the No.3 Furnace, there is an art bookstore, a Winter Olympics licensed store, and a Beijing gifts shop, where visitors can find creative products with elements of Shougang.

Liao Cang

Recently, the "Fantasy Gathering of Mountains and Seas: Qiu Qijing Science Fiction Art Exhibition" opened at the Jin'an Science Fiction Square Building 3 (Liao Cang) in Shougang Park. The exhibition is themed on "Fantastic Creatures of the Mountains and Seas" and presents the living status of these creatures in the digital space through a combination of real-life sculptures and digital projections. The exhibition is divided into outdoor and indoor parts, with the indoor exhibition distributed on the second and third floors of Liao Cang. The light and shadow space on the third floor will lead visitors into an immersive scene combining reality and virtuality - the LIAO space. Visitors will experience the stories of the creatures in the universe through five areas: the Trial of Fantasy, the Fantasy Path of Mountains and Seas, the Eternal Fantasy, the Fantasy Space, and the Fantasy Corridor. The interactive experience area is set up on the second floor of the exhibition hall, where visitors can experience traditional hand-painted coloring and see the different appearances of the creatures under the light and shadow effects.

Gongbei Tower

Gongbei Tower is located at the top of Shijing Mountain. Climbing up to the observation deck of Gongbei Tower, visitors can enjoy a beautiful landscape of mountains and rivers. Looking west, there is the beauty of the mountains and Yongding River in Xishan. Looking east, there is a cityscape of the ancient capital Beijing. Here, visitors can enjoy the poetic scenery of "half mountains and half city".
