FCID: Forbidden City's Qingming Festival 3.0 Exhibition

2024-11-12

Today's Forbidden City is no longer the majestic Forbidden City in the eyes of young people. There are many cultural creative products such as the folding fan with the words "That's the kind of guy I am.", seasonal palace cakes, marine creature cookies, travel cards with words "travel according to the imperial edict" and paper tape with words "created by the Forbidden City"...The Forbidden City, which makes people respect but also cute, is becoming more and more popular, young and interesting. Recently, the Forbidden City has launched a high-tech interactive art exhibition of the Along the River During the Qingming Festival 3.0, calling on everyone to "enter the palace" as soon as possible.

At nine o'clock in the morning, the red "container" in the Jianting Square of the Forbidden City stands out in the sun. After checking my identity according to the reservation information, I step into the gate and enter a journey of "Dreaming back to the Song Dynasty" that has spanned thousands of years. Entering the exhibition hall, the 36-meter-long and 4.8-meter-high huge interactive scroll of the Along the River During the Qingming Festival is flowing slowly on the wall. After the original painting is enlarged about 20 times, 814 characters, 83 livestock, 29 large and small passenger and cargo ships, 13 vehicles and more than 180 trees painted by Zhang Zeduanare all "alive" and injected with new life. In early spring, the willows are swaying slightly, the houses on both sides of the Bianhe River are lined up, the fishermen on the boat are rowing hard, and there are crowds of all kinds on the Hongqiao: People carrying sedan chairs, people pulling donkeys, people setting up stalls, fortune tellers, people taking care of children, and people pointing and watching the scene of bustle ... Every passer-by in the capital city has his own destiny, but at this moment, all of them meet in the painting, and they also silently collide with our souls when visiting outside the painting.

Thanks to the dual 8K ultra-high-definition projection technology adopted by the Forbidden City, some interesting details missed in the "Shiqu Baoji" exhibition are clearly and vividly presented to my eyes. On the outskirts of Bianjing, three people, running all the way, chase the frightened horses; Near the city gate, impatient children raise their hands, trying to attract the attention of two adults who are chatting happily; Outside the inn for people to rest and chat, the little brother wearing an apron grabbed two pairs of chopsticks in one hand and two bowls of rice in the other, and hurriedly send them out ... Every scene is a script, waiting for an imaginative audience to interpret it, fill in the blanks, and occasionally smile.

In the well-built immersive holographic interactive exhibition hall of the "Sun's Mutton Restaurant", "Guests, please come into the restaurant!""Boss, serve the tea!"Bartenders greet the guests who is watching the exhibition. I can not only hear the diners upstairs, but also turn around and almost bump into the bartenders who send the takeaway roast chicken. In the sound of the singer's pipa, I look back to the outside of the store: camel caravans load with goods, people in the capital of song dynasty who are busy delivering goods, vendors waving rattles to attract passers-by ... The feeling of people living in the Song Dynasty that"The horse stops under the shade of trees, and the restaurant presents the spring scenery in March." comes to me, and the petals scatter all over the sky before the performance is even more dreamlike. In addition, the rippling bluestone rain lane and the boat on the capital of song dynasty built by the 4D dynamic ball screen cinema are not only surprising, but also touching the heart: cultural relics can not only tell a story, but also span thousands of years of time and space at any time, pulling you to awaken your historical memory and cultural imagination.

In addition to this high-tech exhibition that reminds people of the Song Dynasty, the "Icehouse" Restaurant hiding near Cining Palace in the Forbidden City is also a treasure trove for me to punch in every time I enter the palace. Icehouse Restaurant was originally built in Qianlong period, which was a cellar for storing ice for the palace. In midsummer, you can feel the coolness at the door before you step into the restaurant. Roast duck is a must here. Icehouse's azurite cool color and roast duck's bordeaux warm color reflect each other, and it becomes The Song of Ice and Fire. In a cool restaurant, pick up a piece of roast duck skin while it is hot, which is fluffy and crisp. The aroma of duck oil overflows your mouth and you can hear the "crunch" sound of chewing.

After eating contentedly, it is natural to sneak into the square outside the Treasure Hall and Jingyun Gate to visit the royal cat owners who are taking a nap or staring blankly in the afternoon. In the past two years, the Forbidden City has become the wonderful place to watch cats in Beijing. Nearly 200 "cats inside the Forbidden City" haunt the red walls and golden tiles, not only with names and marks, but also with special expenses such as sterilization and inspection. Every cat's personality and preferance are also different: "Ping An", named by the curator Shanan Jixiang personally, likes to catch mice and it has won the title of the first excellent employee; "Ao Bai" likes to lie on a bench, and this time you can see it again in a chair outside Jingren Palace. "Aoao" is a cat that can't learn to meow, but only "aoao". "Xiaozair" needs a can to please, and it can turn over the belly when it is happy ... The existence of these cats makes people seem to have a cordial and real connection with this ancient and magnificent palace, and also makes every trip to the Forbidden City more and more soft and warm.
