
The full name of Wansong Laoren Pagoda in Beijing is "Yuan Wansong Laoren Pagoda". It was built in the Yuan Dynasty and is one of the early symbols of Beijing as a cultural ancient city. It is also the only remaining brick tower with a dense eaves style in the urban area of Beijing.
The tower was originally an octagonal seven-level dense eaves style, and was raised to nine levels during the Qing Dynasty Qianlong period (1753) when it was renovated. The current tower was rebuilt in 1927 with funds raised by Ye Gongchuo and others. The tower is 16 meters high, with an octagonal nine-level dense eaves style, and the Qing tower is wrapped around the Yuan tower. It is simple and elegant, exquisite and delicate, and is the only remaining brick tower in the urban area of Beijing. It is a cultural relic protection unit in Beijing and is located at No. 41 Xisi Nan Dajie, Xicheng District, Beijing. The name of Zhuanta Hutong comes from it.
Now, the entire courtyard of Wansong Laoren Pagoda is used as a reading space by Zhengyang Bookstore.
