Recently, some citizens have noticed that a row of shops located at the southwest corner of the intersection between GuangmingBeidajie(St) and CongtaiLu(Rd), which had been under construction for some time, has been completed consecutively. Novel shop names have attracted the attention of passers-by. On the morning of October 21st, a reporter came to the scene to find out more.

Entering one shop which sells specialties, the reporter heard the staff members introducing to citizens, "We sell specialty products from Fengfeng Mining District, including the millet,  vinegar and sesame oil, as well as Cizhou Kiln products."

"Cizhou Kiln also produces sets of tableware themed around idioms and stories?""Look at this tea set with ‘HufuQishe’ painted on it, so exquisite!" Ms. Li and her husband were standing in front of the Cizhou Kiln product display case, admiring carefully.

"Pengcheng Town in Fengfeng Mining District is very famous for its Cizhou Kiln, ‘Jingde in the south, Pengcheng in the north’. Now they even have ceramic products themed around idioms and stories, which are more characteristic of Handan and are suitable to be souvenirs,"Ms. Li told the reporter.

In the shop named "Hometown of Tai Chi, YongnianDistrict,"the reporter met Mr. Huwho was busy taking videos with his phone. "Homeboys, come and see!There’s now a specialty store dedicated to Yongnian right here in our city, featuring our donkey meat and Qimei chicken eggs,"Mr. Hu explained while filming.

"This chili sauce is 8 degrees, a bit spicy. Can I buy a single jar? How much for one jar?"Ms. Zhao from the northeast, who is in Handan looking after her daughter and son-in-law's child, encountered the reporter while pushing a stroller with her one-year-old granddaughter shopping for chili sauce in the store.

"Two years ago, friends from my hometown in Jize brought us a few bottles of Jize chili sauce, and it was very delicious,"said Ms. Zhao. "Now there's a specialty store right at the entrance of my community, and the flavor is authentic. It saves me the trip to Jize."

"Do you have the Old Wuliangye liquor?" Before even entering the door, Mr. Tao’s voice could be heard inquiring. "Yes! Please come in and have a look," replied the staff inside.

Mr. Tao told the reporter that he had tasted Jize’sWuliang liquor 30 years ago and found it fragrant. Seeing the specialty store inJize County, he came in to ask about it. "The packaging has been upgraded now, I wonder if the taste has changed. I’ll take a bottle to try,"he said.

"Come and see the Linzhang specialties, we have large pot of lamb soup, braised rabbit, and Meilin grain and oil..."Chen Xuan, an employee , was introducing Linzhang County specialties to the customers.

"What’s selling well these days since the opening?" the reporter asked. "Of course, it’s our agricultural products. Knife-shaved noodles, hanging noodles, and pickled cucumbers are particularly popular. A 1.2 kg pack of knife-shaved iron rod yam noodles sells for 10 yuan; 300 grams packs of egg noodles, buckwheat noodles, and mung bean noodles go for 5 yuan each for two packs, with good quality and affordable prices.Just yesterday, nearly 500 yuan worth of goods were soldas soon as the goods were displayed,"said Chen Xuan.

"Full of creativity, it is really impressive," commented Mr. Guo, who had specifically come to visit the specialty stores after hearing the news. He frequently travels between Beijing and Handan for work and always brings Handan specialties back to his colleagues and friends in Beijing as souvenirs.

"Bringing together all our local specialties in one place is just like enjoying Handan cuisine, allowing us to visit and purchase all of Handan’s specialties at a single location. It’s such a creative idea and convenient for us Handan residents to buy local products for visiting friends and relatives. For tourists coming to Handan, they can also make a one-stop purchase of Handan specialties. Moreover,through these specialty stores,they can learn about our unique Handan features and culture," Mr.Guo praised repeatedly.

It is known that currently, Handan City has a total of 370 agricultural products with "two brands and one label"(certifications for green food, organic food, and geographical indication products), and nearly all of these products can be found here. Specialty stores from various counties and districts are now opening successively.
