2024-11-04

As autumn reaches its peak, the ginkgo trees are basking in their golden hour. Every branch glows with dazzling gold, radiating breathtaking beauty without reserve. This vibrant display is truly awe-inspiring.

Old Summer Palace

At the intersection of the three gardens in the Old Summer Palace, stretching to the west entrance of the Western Mansions ruins, lies a nearly kilometer-long avenue lined with ginkgo trees.

As the autumn breeze sweeps through, flecks of yellow swirl down, carpeting the ground in gold. Step on them, and you'll hear the crisp crunch unique to the season. Pick one up, tracing its veins and patterns, perhaps choosing a few favorites to keep as bookmarks. Arrange them into shapes, spell out words, or capture the scene in photos—a way to hold onto this beautiful memory forever.

Zhongshan Park

The Zhongshan Park Ginkgo Avenue, located just inside the South Gate, offers a perfect spot to capture the "Red Wall and Ginkgo" scene—just like the iconic views at the Forbidden City.

Golden ginkgo leaves, lush green cedars, and the vermilion temple walls create a striking harmony, each enhancing the beauty of the others.

On the west side of the park's South Gate lies a grove of ginkgo trees, which is also where the park's Long Corridor is located.

Red-painted pillars, large red lanterns, colorful paintings under the eaves, and the classical-style corridor combine with the iconic autumn ginkgo leaves, creating a palette rich with a sense of history—perfect for capturing memorable photos.

Temple of Heaven Park

Entering the North Gate of the Temple of Heaven Park, the first sight is the park's ginkgo avenue, set against the backdrop of the  Hall of Abstinence. This view highlights the beauty of ancient architecture intertwined with the natural landscape of the Temple of Heaven.

Over 60 golden ginkgo trees line a hundred-meter avenue, their leaves shimmering in the sunlight, resembling drapes of golden satin. Set against the backdrop of the park's red walls and the majestic Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, this ginkgo avenue exudes a regal elegance, both grand and solemn.

Ditan Park

The ginkgo avenue in Ditan Park stretches from the North Gate of Ditan to the North Gate of Fangze Altar.

As the oldest ginkgo avenue in Beijing, the ginkgo avenue in Ditan Park has always been a captivating sight that should not be missed during the autumn season in the capital.

In addition to the ginkgo avenue, other pathways within the park are also lined with ginkgo trees. Over 200 ginkgo trees, planted in the late 1950s, are scattered throughout various areas of the park. Every late autumn, the leaves fall and blanket the ground, with bright yellow leaves shining like gold. Strolling along the golden path made of ginkgo leaves feels like stepping into a fairy tale world.

The roads outside the East and West Gates of Ditan Park are also lined with ginkgo trees, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful ginkgo scenery even without entering the park.

Ritan Park

If you want to capture the "Red Wall and Ginkgo" scene, you can't miss Ritan Park. The ginkgo trees against the red walls create a striking color combination that is emblematic of late autumn.

The tall and lush ginkgo trees, set against the backdrop of red walls and green tiles, showcase the vibrant colors of autumn.

Adjacent to Ritan Park, Ritan East Road is another ginkgo avenue lined with trees on both sides. The dense yellow leaves shade the street, enveloping passersby in a golden hue. This road offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, with fewer crowds and beautiful scenery, along with delicious dining options like Ritan hot pot.

Zizhuyuan Park

Located in the northwest of Zizhuyuan Park, two ancient ginkgo trees in Fuyin Zizhuyuan were planted during the Ming Dynasty, in the Wanli period. In the golden autumn season, these ancient ginkgo trees, adorned with brilliant golden leaves, create a spectacular sight surrounded by the historic architecture in the area.

Surrounding the large lawn on the east side of the park, several tall ginkgo trees with a mix of yellow and green leaves sway in the sunlight. Their leaves dance with the light, showcasing the park's vibrant and dazzling beauty in autumn.
