2024-10-28

Ginkgo trees never disappoint in autumn; it's that time of year again when the leaves turn yellow. From late October to early November, especially after the Frost's Descent solar term, Beijing's brilliant golden ginkgo scenery arrives as promised. The ginkgo beauty in these scenic areas is now on display, so be sure to check it out this weekend!

Dongba Country Park

Dongba Country Park is located outside the Fifth Ring Road in Dongba Township, Chaoyang District, Beijing. The park features a large ginkgo forest with over 6,000 ginkgo trees. As of now, the ginkgo forest in the southern area has nearly fully changed color, exuding a rich late autumn ambiance and showcasing a brilliant autumn landscape.

Address: Kanggezhuang Road, outside the Fifth Ring Road, Dongba Township, Chaoyang District, Beijing.

Hongluo Temple

Drive along Huaihuang Road, and as the autumn colors deepen along the way, you will arrive at the Hongluo Temple scenic area. It is now the best season for leaf viewing at Hongluo Temple, where colorful foliage blooms at the foot of the mountain. On the mountain, red maple forests are interspersed among the green pines and cypress trees, creating a stunning contrast of colors.

As you ascend along the path through the temple's bamboo grove, the thousand-year-old male and female ginkgo trees in front of the Mahavira Hall will come into view.

In autumn, the two ginkgo trees spread their golden wings in front of the main hall. The ginkgo leaves seem to add a layer of Zen ambiance, creating a romance unique to this ancient temple that has stood for a thousand years.

For friends who prefer not to hike, you can take this easy leaf-viewing route at the foot of the mountain, passing by the popular photo spot "Male and Female Ginkgo Trees." It's a relaxing way to enjoy the autumn scenery. Here's the recommended route:

Yinshan Pagoda Forest Scenic Area

As autumn deepens, the Yinshan Pagoda Forest Scenic Area in Changping District welcomes a romantic encounter with the ginkgo trees.

"Iron Wall Silver Mountain" is one of the "Eight Views of Beijing" from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Its steep cliffs resemble towering walls that are as dark as iron. After heavy snow, the mountains are blanketed in white, giving them a silver appearance, hence the name. Among the many colors of autumn, the splash of golden ginkgo adds to the stunning beauty of the Yinshan Pagoda Forest Scenic Area.

This is a group of buildings over a thousand years old, where the ancient pagoda forest beautifully complements the vibrant autumn colors. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting a glow on the golden "ginkgo carpet" covering the ground, adding a dazzling touch to the scenery. This weekend, come to Yinshan Pagoda Forest to enjoy the ginkgo trees and encounter beauty unexpectedly!
