"Celebeating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China-The Grand Canal themed works of calligraphy and painting Exhibition" will grandly open on October 1, 2024, at the Capital Museum.
The "Celebeating The 75th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China-The Grand Canal themed works of calligraphy and painting" brings together over 80 calligraphy and painting collections related to the Grand Canal from more than ten institutions, including the Palace Museum, the National Museum of China, the Art Museum of Tsinghua University, the Suzhou Museum, the Liaoning Museum, the Tianjin Museum, the Anhui Museum, the Zhejiang Museum, the Wuxi Museum, the Yangzhou Museum, the Zhenjiang Museum, the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, the Art Museum of China Academy of Art, the Jiangsu Art Museum, the Jiangsu Modern Art Museum, the Beijing Cultural Relics Exchange Center, the Beijing Painting Academy, and the Capital Museum.
The exhibition is divided into three sections: "National Strategy Chapter: Vital Waterways", "Cultural Heritage Chapter: Cultural Wave", and "Ecological Chapter: Clear Waves and Moisture", showcasing the Grand Canal's historical importance as a 'lifeline of transportation,' the cultural landscape of cities along the Grand Canal, and the good ecological environment of the canal's banks. The aim is to present the history and present state of the Grand Canal and to look forward to its future development and significance. Among the exhibits, there are many significant pieces to look forward to, including the Ming Dynasty Qiu Ying's "Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival", which has not left the Liaoning Museum for over a decade and has attracted much attention!
