Beijing parks have pressed the night tour button and introduced diverse characteristic night activities

A number of parks in Beijing have introduced cultural performances, art performances, science classes and other characteristic night activities to enrich your summer experience.

Beihai Park

From July to August, Beihai Park changes into brilliant night costumes every Friday and Saturday as night falls, with iconic landscapes such as the White Dagoba, Yilan Hall, Five-Dragon Pavilions, and Xiaoxitian lit up.

The "seal-meditation" in-depth cultural experience activities launched by Beihai Park integrate gardening, opera, non-heritage and other cultural elements, seeking to provide you with an immersive garden experience through the concept of "culture +".

When stepping into the Jingxin Studio scenic area, accompanied by the melodious sound of guzheng solo High Mountains and Flowing Water in Yunqin Studio, you will enter a world of classical elegance. The masterful combination of the classic segment of Kunqu The Peony Pavilion and modern light show will bring you to a journey through time and space to feel the unique tranquility and beauty. Besides, tea art performance, the instrumental ensemble of pipa and dongxiao Moonlit Night on the Spring River, solo dance It Rains Softly in the South and Flying Swan Dance will be staged one after another.

The activity is also interspersed with performances of intangible cultural heritage such as Bian Lian (face-changing) in Sichuan Opera, so you can have a close encounter with the unique charm of traditional art. Longtan Zhonghu Park

Transformed from the previous Beijing Amusement Park, which was closed for ten years due to the aging of its facilities, Longtan Zhonghu Park has been renovated and reopened in recent years. The Ferris Wheel, which has preserved the sweet memories of countless Beijingers, is now adding romance to the city's life at night in another way.

"Night of the Ferris Wheel" is a park carnival that comprises outdoor concerts, recreational sports, funny activities, campground experiences, and summer nightlife. On weekend evenings, the Ferris Wheel is lit up with shifting colors, witnessing the successive appearance of forest markets, informal concerts, informal screening rooms and others.

Longtan Lake Park

The 2024 Longtan Light and Shadow Show has forged five theme areas, namely Shengshilongteng (Dragon Gallop in a Prosperous Era), Longhumengjing (Dreamland in the Dragon Lake), Qinglongnaohai (Green Dragon Haunting the Sea), Shiguangsenlin (Picking up the Light in the Forest) and the Fairy Show. There are also a series of fun and interactive parade performances, such as shadow puppet play, fairy flash mob and parade in dragon costumes.

Step into the light and shadow show along the "Flying Dragon in the Sky" corridor, and a giant dragon made up of various kinds of lanterns soars above your head. As you walk on the Water Wave Avenue, there are flickering water ripples under your feet and a starry sky made up of colorful jellyfish above your head.

Beijing Expo Park

The "Night Expo Park" has created a summer night feast that integrates night viewing, night running, night fair, night accomodations and night riding. As night falls, the architectural landscape lighting will be available in the China Pavilion, Wanhua Square, the domestic exhibition parks on both sides of the China Axis, and some areas of the International exhibition parks, and the regional water landscape will be opened as well. Wonderful music fountain performances are expectable every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening at 20:30, and the color platform on the north side of the China Pavilion offers the most privileged views.

Bicycle riding activities will be held every Friday night. Participants can bring their own bicycles or rent bicycles on the spot. The cycling route covers all the roads in the park, along which you can enjoy the beautiful night view of the resort and feel the charm of nature in the process of relaxing riding.

The weekends also witness "rainbow run" conducted in the park. The route starts from the International Pavilion Square and runs along the ring road of the park for about 3 to 5 kilometers. Covering all the rainbow runways in the park that utilize biodegradable multi-color cornstarch, it seeks to place you in a characteristic ambience!

The International Pavilion is open to the public every night, with 10 pickleball courts and 2 badminton courts. During the opening period, professional coaches and training partners will be provided.

Every Thursday, Beijing Expo Park organizes Haituo stargazing activities in Haituo Skyland, which is the best destination for mountain and water appreciation on the wooden stacks and near-water wooden platforms along the river in the Resort.

The immersive sitcom Dream China - The Great Wall is open for night show as well. It unfolds against the background of the Great Wall culture as the background and traces the history of the Great Wall for more than 2,000 years. Integrating music, dance, costumes, poems, folklore and other art forms, it highlights the unique humanistic characteristics of the Great Wall in an intensive manner.
