Merging diverse arts and moving towards a new quality future. On September 24th, the 17th Beijing 798 Art Festival officially kicked off for the general public. With the theme of "Integration · New Quality," this edition of the art festival aims to showcase the resonance between art and society in the new era through diverse art forms and new quality cultural experiences.
The festival will run for a month, from September 24th to October 25th. The organizers, in collaboration with nearly a hundred art institutions inside and outside the park, have meticulously planned two themed exhibitions, over 70 parallel exhibitions, 5 art lectures, 3 square activities, multiple public cultural activities within the park, and over ten off-site collaborative activities, delving deep into the profound integration of art and technology, tradition and modernity, local and international art, presenting a more new quality cultural experience, creating a highly artistic and forward-looking art festival for the public.
The two major themed exhibitions of this edition of the art festival have successfully elevated the integration of art and technology to new heights. At The 798 International Art Exchange Center, the exhibition "Integration · New Quality - The Debate of the Extremely Small and Large" explores the artistic connection between the microscopic world and the macroscopic universe from a unique perspective, presenting a wonderful spectacle of the combination of technology and art to the audience. "Elliptical Dipole: Visceral Particles and Sorcerous Flows - A Yunchul Kim Exhibition" is displayed at 798CUBE, delving into the new expressions of emotion and material in the age of technology through its profound artistic language, offering the audience a symphony of technological and futuristic sensations.
The art festival, in collaboration with dozens of art institutions and artists within the park, has carefully curated over 70 parallel exhibitions. These exhibitions closely revolve around the theme of "Integration · New Quality," covering diverse forms of art. They include art installation exhibitions imbued with a sense of technology as well as individual art exhibitions rich in literary atmosphere, presenting the audience with an interdisciplinary and more diverse artistic feast.
In addition to themed and parallel exhibitions, the art festival also includes a variety of vibrant sections such as square activities, dramas and performances, art lectures, etc., collectively creating a comprehensive artistic experience, allowing every audience member to find their own artistic world within it.
The influence of this edition of the art festival extends not only within the 798 Art District but also collaborates with over ten surrounding art institutions such as the China National Film Museum, CAFA Art Museum, Ethnic Costume Museum of Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology, Red Brick Art Museum, collectively building a broader platform for artistic exchange. This cross-regional cooperation not only greatly enriches the exhibition content and activity forms of the art festival but also promotes the complementarity and sharing of cultural and artistic resources within the region, offering the public a more diverse and in-depth artistic experience.
In June of this year, the 798 and 751 districts merged operations to become the largest art and creative industry cluster in the country. These two districts carry the historical memory of the capital's industrial development and are important carriers for inheriting historical culture and promoting the development of cultural and technological industries. In the future, the 798 and 751 districts will accelerate the integration and development of the "culture + technology" industry, promoting cultural consumption through rich carriers, injecting innovative activities into the cultural industry, continuously shaping Beijing as a cultural tourism landmark with the diverse labels of "international perspective, artistic leadership, fashionable consumption, and industrial inheritance."
