Bronze Grandeur Of A Minor State: Four Bronzewares From Marquis of E in the Early Western Zhou Dynasty

The special exhibition "Bronze Grandeur Of A Minor State: Four Bronzewares From Marquis of E in the Early Western Zhou Dynasty" showcases all 51 bronze artifacts from the tomb of the E Hou of Yangzishan and some bronze artifacts unearthed from the tomb of the Zeng Hou of Yejia Mountain, all of which are 85% first-class cultural relics. The exhibition is centered around the four divine faces unearthed from the tomb of the E Hou of Yangzishan in the early Western Zhou Dynasty about 3,000 years ago. According to the form and function of bronze artifacts, the exhibition presents five major categories of weapons, tableware, wine vessels, water vessels, and chariot decorations, comprehensively displaying the classic ritual objects of that time. Visitors can not only appreciate the exquisite shapes, complex craftsmanship, and diverse decorative styles of these bronze artifacts, but also further understand the important position of bronze art in ancient Chinese civilization and its development trajectory. The exhibition also reveals the differences in bronze technology between the East and the West, fully reflecting the unique achievements and profound cultural influence of ancient China in the field of bronze art.
