Have you lost your passport in Beijing? Don't worry. You may apply for a certificate reporting the loss of a foreigner's passport at the Exit-and-Entry Administration of the Public Security Bureau.

3-Step Registration

Step 1: Go to the Local Police Station

· Please report the loss of your passport to the local police station immediately.

· Obtain an incident report issued by the police station.

Step 2: What to Prepare in Advance

►Police report: one original copy issued by the police station

►one two-inch photo (3.5×4.9cm) 

►one application explaining the loss of your passport

►If a minor under your custody has lost his or her passport: In addition to the above, you will also need to provide proof of your parental relationship to the minor.

Points for Attention

1. The validity period of the "confirmation of loss of a foreigner's passport" is 30 days. Foreigners who fail to apply for a new passport within this time period will be punished for illegal residence (except under exceptional circumstances).

2. The procedure described in this document only applies to foreigners who have lost their passports in Beijing.
