Several museums and parks in Beijing adjust opening hours

With the end of summer and the start of a new semester, several museums in Beijing have announced that they will end their extended summer opening hours and resume their weekly closure on Mondays. In addition, some buildings in several parks will also resume their Monday closure.

National Museum of China

According to the National Museum of China, starting from September 1, 2024 (Sunday), the museum will end its extended summer opening hours and resume its original opening hours.

The opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry at 16:00), and closed on Mondays (except for statutory holidays). Visitors are advised to make reservations in advance and enter during their reserved time slot.

National Natural History Museum of China

With the end of summer vacation, the National Natural History Museum of China will resume its Monday closure starting from September.

Starting from September 2, 2024 (Monday), the museum will be closed on Mondays (except for statutory holidays) and open from Tuesday to Sunday.

Normal opening hours: 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry at 16:30).

Beijing Planetarium

Starting from September 1, 2024, the Beijing Planetarium will resume its opening hours from 9:00 to 16:30 (last ticket sold at 16:00) and be closed on Tuesdays (except for statutory holidays).

Xiangshan Museum of Founding of New China

Starting from September 1, 2024, the Xiangshan Museum of Founding of New China will end its extended summer opening hours and resume normal opening hours. The museum will be closed on Mondays and open from 9:00 to 16:30 (last entry at 16:00).

Beijing Art Museum

Beijing Stone Carving Art Museum

Since July, Kongmiao and Imperial College Museum have delayed their closure on some dates to meet the summer needs of visitors, and temporarily adjusted the Monday closure to Tuesday closure.

The Summer Palace

As the summer is coming to an end and to strengthen the protection of cultural relics in the park, the Summer Palace, including Deheyuan, Foxiangge, Suzhou Street, and the Summer Palace Museum, will be closed on Mondays starting from September 1 (except for major holidays).

Temple of Heaven Park
