Built during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, Yishou Hall was originally served as a resting place for Empress Dowager Cixi when she visited the Pavilion of Imperial View. Walking along the southern slope of Xiangshan Lu(Rd), with the gentle breeze and swaying trees, you'll arrive at the "Shuangqing Villa." Surrounded by mountains, water, and lush trees, the hexagonal red pavilion in the center of the courtyard is the iconic building of Shuangqing Villa.
Opposite the pavilion lies a row of houses, which were once served as the living quarters and offices of Comrade Mao Zedong, including his office, reception room, and bedroom. The furnishings in the office, including the writing desk, swivel chair, sofa, rattan bookshelf, phonograph, radio, and the map on the wall, remain arranged exactly as they were.
Exiting Shuangqing Villa, you can visit various buildings such as Lai qQing Pavilionxuan, the east wing of Shuangqing Villa, XiaobailouWhite building tower, Siqin Pavilion, Duoyun Pavilion, Lizhu Pavilion, Zhenfang Pavilion, and Zhennan Housebuilding tower. The scenes of the lives and work of the older generation of revolutionaries, as well as the staff of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the headquarters of the Chinese People's Liberation Army during their time in Xiangshan, come vividly to life.
