Every June, thousands of acres of roses bloom, transforming Miaofeng Mountain Forest Park into a world of flowers. Everywhere you look, there are purple-red roses exuding an enchanting fragrance, captivating visitors and making them reluctant to leave. Walking through the hundred-acre meadow, you can enjoy the fresh air and pleasant climate, with wildflowers such as Potentilla fruticosa, Rosa acicularis, lilacs, anemones, and lilies adorning the landscape. Miaofeng Mountain Forest Park is a destination that combines nature, health, leisure, flower and fruit viewing, mountain vacations, and summer retreats.

Golden Summit Temple Fair

Miaofeng Mountain, part of the Taihang Mountains, has a main peak at an altitude of 1291 meters, making it the highest peak of Xiaoxi Mountain in western Beijing and the nearest thousand-meter peak to the capital. Miaofeng Mountain is known as the "First Fairy Mountain of Beijing" due to its elegant and steep terrain, lush vegetation, clear springs, waterfalls, and fragrant flowers. The Golden Summit of Miaofeng Mountain is one of Beijing's famous "Eight Summits" and is renowned in the Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei regions for the "Golden Summit Temple Fair."

The Miaofeng Mountain Temple Fair, also known as the Miaofeng Mountain Niangniang Temple Fair, is an ancient traditional folk and cultural activity that originated in the Ming Dynasty. The Bixia Yuanjun Temple (Niangniang Temple) at the summit of Miaofeng Mountain was once a famous holy site in northern China.

Bixia Yuanjun is one of the most worshipped deities in Chinese folklore, and the Miaofeng Mountain Temple Fair, known as "the most prosperous incense in the world," is one of the most influential folk activities in old Beijing and northern provinces. After Emperor Jiaqing ascended the throne, he named the temple "Chijian Huiji Temple" and bestowed an imperial plaque with the temple's name, elevating the temple's status to its highest.

Within the temple gates, the Green Dragon and White Tiger gods are worshipped as guardians, marking the entrance to the main temple. The temple complex includes the Linggan Palace, Guanyin Hall, Wenchang Hall, Dizang Hall, Yue Lao Hall, Three Religions Hall, Medicine King Hall, and Wang San Granny Hall. Behind the temple, there is the Huixiang Pavilion, with the main hall dedicated to the Great Emperor of Dongyue, and the eastern and western halls and courtyards dedicated to the God of Wealth. The temple gate hall houses guardian statues of a boy and a girl. Several hundred meters up from the Huixiang Pavilion, the main hall is dedicated to the Jade Emperor, with the eastern hall for the Three Officials and the western hall for the True Martial Emperor. The east side of the main temple houses the deity of joy, Emperor Tang Minghuang, and the patron saint of the arts.

The main temple gate has three openings, with the central arched entrance adorned with a white marble plaque inscribed with the five large characters "Chijian Huiji Temple" by Emperor Jiaqing. Each side of the gate hall has an entrance constructed in the style of a gatehouse. According to tradition, incense fair participants and worshippers should enter through the east gate and exit through the west gate, avoiding the central gate. The gate hall features statues of Taoist guardian deities, with the Green Dragon God in the east and the White Tiger God in the west, both formidable guardian beasts. The main hall has a large gabled roof with glazed tiles, decorated with mythical creatures such as immortals, dragons, phoenixes, lions, celestial horses, and sea horses on the roof ridges.

Walking along this historic red road evokes deep emotions and reflections.

Leveraging its rich history of resistance, Tanchang Village has created a red cultural experience area within the Shenquan Gorge Scenic Area. In addition to red tourism, the natural scenery of Shenquan Gorge is also beautiful, making it a popular new destination for many citizens.
