Yudu Mountain Scenic Area is located at the foot of Haituo Mountain, known as the "Highest Peak of Yan Mountains." Situated upstream from the Longqing Gorge Scenic Area, it boasts a pristine natural landscape characterized by clear, serene, and wild beauty. Its picturesque scenery and tranquil environment have earned it the nickname "Beijing's Backyard Garden." With its unique geology and picturesque views, Yudu Mountain is a hidden gem in the deep mountains, offering clear waters, lush mountains, and the delightful sounds of birds and the fragrance of flowers. It is often referred to as the "Pearl of Beijing's Suburbs."

Winding Mountain Road

Yudu Mountain Scenic Area is just a two-hour drive from downtown Beijing. Starting from Beijing, take the Jingzang Expressway or the Jingli Expressway to the Yanqing area. From there, follow the Jingyin Road and Yuhai Road to reach the ticket office of Yudu Mountain Scenic Area. From the ticket office to the core area of Yudu Mountain, there is a nine-kilometer winding mountain road, which is also an unmissable scenic route.

This is the prelude to the enchanting scenery of Yudu Mountain. If you happen to visit after a rain, you might witness mist or light, gauzy clouds, or even a rolling sea of clouds. The nine-kilometer winding mountain road appears like a ribbon tied around the green mountains, enveloped in mist, creating a fairyland-like atmosphere. It is truly breathtaking and mesmerizing.

Alpine Meadow

The alpine meadow is the first stop for most visitors to Yudu Mountain. Situated at an altitude of approximately 900 meters and covering an area of about 50,000 square meters, it offers a breathtaking view. Standing on the meadow, you can gaze into the distance at the rolling mountains, lush forests, and dense shrubs, all forming a beautiful landscape painting. Appreciating the scenery is enough to refresh and invigorate the mind.

Here, you can hike and relax while breathing in the fresh air of nature. It's an excellent spot for family trips, where you can play on the grass, fly kites, or camp. Bring delicious food and a picnic mat to enjoy a meal in the clouds. Enjoy a date with the sunshine, grass, and fresh air, embracing nature and spending a pleasant leisure time.

It is worth mentioning that the alpine meadow is also an ideal location for wedding photoshoots. Many couples capture their sweet and happy moments here. With a carpet-like soft green lawn underfoot and rolling mountains beneath the blue sky and white clouds in the distance, this long summer day is made even more refreshing in such a fairyland-like setting.

Worries Forgetten Lake

The ever-flowing source water nurtures the pristine beauty of Yudu Mountain Scenic Area and creates a refreshing atmosphere, allowing you to experience a summer with temperatures around 20°C. At an altitude of 860 meters, a long overflow dam blocks the outflowing spring water, forming an artificial lake of about 120,000 square meters—Worries Forgetten Lake. The lake is clear and transparent, with calm and tranquil waves, resembling a precious mirror set in the deep mountain gorge.

When the breeze blows, ripples spread across the lake's surface. Surrounded by mountains, lush forests, and dense shrubs, the green waters and verdant hills create a tranquil and beautiful landscape painting. Immersed in this picturesque scenery, one feels as if all life's worries are instantly gone, hence the name "Worries Forgetten Lake."

Worries Forgetten Lake is located on the eastern side of the alpine meadow. The lakeside is adorned with blooming wildflowers and fresh air, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing and photography. The nearby lake is clear and transparent, while the distant mountains are lush and green. Amidst the mountains, there is a small pavilion named "Worries Forgetten Pavilion," seemingly waiting for you to rest and take a break.

The boating project resumed operation during the May Day holiday this year, with larger scale and improved facilities. While enjoying the scenic beauty of the lake and mountains, you can experience greater comfort and pleasure. Boarding a boat allows you to fully appreciate the unique landscape of Yudu Mountain and marvel at the wonders of nature.

You can also choose to stroll along the leisurely lakeside trail, which is about 3 kilometers long. As you walk, the scenery constantly changes, allowing you to relax and immerse yourself in the refreshing embrace of nature.

Shaded Streams and Waterfall Scenery

The beauty of Yudu Mountain lies in its harmonious combination of mountains, rocks, forests, springs, waterfalls, flowers, and grass. The mountain streams flow year-round, offering different scenic views in spring, summer, autumn, and winter. "First, admire the beautiful scenery; second, see the long-flowing water. Every path leads to the source, where clear streams flow over rocks." This is the most vivid depiction of Yudu Mountain.

Yudu Mountain is a pristine green memory preserved by nature and an excellent choice for modern people to return to nature. Surrounded by mountains and water, with picturesque peaks and lush forests, the mountain streams are crystal clear, and the trees are verdant and dense. With high vegetation coverage, the alpine natural oxygen bar refreshes the mind and invigorates the spirit.

On the north side of the alpine meadow is a forest hiking trail that extends along a stream. The entire trail runs alongside the stream and through shaded areas. The route is relatively easy, with little elevation change, making it suitable for most people.

As you ascend the steps, you'll be surrounded by the sounds of birds and the fragrance of flowers, with dappled sunlight filtering through the trees. Various small animals inhabit the forest, and you might encounter them unexpectedly around a corner. Within the scenic area, several waterfalls cascade down with great momentum. Standing before a waterfall, you can feel the cool mist and marvel at its grandeur, as if you are in a fairyland.

Listen to the babbling streams and watch the waterfalls flow continuously. Hear the chirping of kingfishers as you stroll along the mountain paths, walking upstream or downstream at your leisure. Experience the tranquility and clarity within your heart as you embark on a harmonious rendezvous with nature.

Red Tourism

Yudu Mountain is not only known for its beautiful natural scenery but also for its rich historical heritage. It is home to several significant revolutionary sites. The site of the Pingbei Military Sub-district Headquarters is located here. Over 80 years ago, the People's Army, led by the Communist Party, entered Pingbei three times, leaving behind many heroic and moving stories on Yudu Mountain. To commemorate the great achievements of the older generation of revolutionaries, Yudu Mountain has established memorial plaques and pavilions.

In 2021, the Yanqing District Propaganda Department designated Yudu Mountain Scenic Area as one of the first "Red Pingbei Education Demonstration Sites." While admiring the beautiful scenery of Yudu Mountain, visitors can also trace the footsteps of their predecessors, receive a baptism of red spirit, and relive the heroic and moving red memories. Reflecting on the turbulent war years, one can revisit the courageous and tenacious history of the Pingbei Anti-Japanese Memorial Army, who fought bravely and resolutely against all odds.

Free Admission for Middle and High School Exam Candidates

All 2024 middle and high school exam candidates in China can enjoy free admission to Yudu Mountain Scenic Area from the end of their exams until August 31st by presenting their exam admission ticket.

Visitor Guidelines

1. The scenic area is a key fire prevention zone. Visitors are not allowed to bring any fire sources into the park and must surrender any fire sources at the security checkpoint. All outdoor fires and camping (except in designated areas) are strictly prohibited. Smoking is not allowed within the park.

2. There is a 9-kilometer winding mountain road from the foot of the mountain to the ticket office. Due to the steep and winding nature of the road, for the safety of visitors, walking, cycling, motorcycling, or driving disability vehicles are prohibited.

3. To ensure driving safety, staggered traffic flow is implemented when large vehicles are passing.

4. Parking lot No. 4 in the scenic area is equipped with new energy charging stations.

5. Please follow the official routes for sightseeing. Climbing wild mountains and entering undeveloped areas are prohibited.

6. Night camping, lodging, and outdoor fires are strictly prohibited within the scenic area.

7. Please take care of the elderly and children after entering the park. Children and minors must be accompanied by a guardian.

8. Driving Directions: Follow the Jingli Expressway to Exit B57, Xinjiaobao Toll Station, and follow the signs to reach the Yudu Mountain ticket office.

9. As of June 4, 2022, pets are not allowed in Yudu Mountain Scenic Area. Entering undeveloped areas of the park is also prohibited. Please comply with the relevant regulations and enjoy a civilized visit.
