Yulan magnolias

The few Yulan magnolia trees on the south side of the outer courtyard of Cibei Nunnery are pure white in color. When in bloom, the snow-white Yulan magnolia flowers, accentuated by the ancient architecture, unfurl gracefully in the breeze, exuding a unique charm and a vibrant spring atmosphere.
Lilacs

Appreciation spot: Best viewed at Yaotai Hill and within Huaxia Mingting Gardens

Manchu rose

Manchu rose is an important ornamental shrub in northern China, known for its stunning golden-yellow flowers in full bloom. Visitors strolling through the park cannot help but marvel at and linger among the branches laden with abundant blossoms.
Malus spectabilis
Appreciation time: Late March to late April
Appreciation spot: Along the route from the East Gate to the North Gate, Shengchunshanfang Area, south bank of the South Lake
For consecutive years, the park has cultivated and planted spring flower landscapes featuring Malus spectabilis as the highlight. Currently, it has assembled the four varieties of Malus spectabilis (Xifu, Chuisi, Tiegeng, and Mugua), and extensively planted ornamental varieties such as "Xuanli" and "Wangzu." As temperatures rise, nearly 20,000 square meters of ground-cover ornamental Malus spectabilis throughout the park will gradually enter their peak blooming period, vying for attention with other spring-flowering shrubs like Forsythia suspense, Chinese fringe flowers, prunus persica duplex. The resulting plant landscape is a kaleidoscope of colors, brimming with spring vitality, and strolling through it feels like wandering in an ocean of flowers.
