China Railway Museum

2024-07-25

Most people have traveled by train, finding each journey filled with new experiences, from capturing photos of the platform and carriages to the tracks themselves. However, there are many limitations to ensure travel safety.

Therefore, I found a stationary railway museum—the China Railway Museum (East Suburb Exhibition Hall). It offers an immersive experience with various trains and vast grassy areas.

At the China Railway Museum (East Suburb Exhibition Hall), you can find many trains of special commemorative significance. These include the "Mao Zedong" and "Zhu De" steam locomotives, as well as the first generation of diesel and electric locomotives made in New China. Additionally, there are the official cars of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou, along with various passenger and freight cars, dining cars, and luggage cars.

One of the highlights is the first high-power mainline freight steam locomotive independently developed by China. The locomotives come in a spectrum of colors, including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, showcasing a variety of styles that are quite rare. This place is a delight for children and railway enthusiasts, making it an ideal spot for photography!

The museum is divided into indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor section features laid tracks and vast lawns, providing excellent photo opportunities! There's no fencing to obstruct your view, offering a wide, open space. Compared to many enclosed indoor museums, this one feels more accessible and authentic—it's truly amazing!

Additionally, there are trendy, pastel-colored locomotives that are absolutely stunning and soothing to look at. The vintage platforms also make for great photo spots!
