On July 5, 23 foreign journalists from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, observer states, and dialogue partners visited the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Station Hub to learn more about the latest developments of this future Asia's largest underground integrated transport hub.

During the visit, the national media group of SCO visited the command center of the project and had a close look at the panoramic sand table of the top ten transportation hubs in Beijing and the three-dimensional sand table of Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Station Hub. After that, the media group went to the construction site to observe the largest light well in the station area, the intelligent robots developed by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, and other new technologies in the construction field.

Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Station Hub is the first large-scale integrated transportation hub in China that includes intercity railways, railway transit, airport terminals and the canal wharf. It is also the first large-scale Transit-Oriented-Development (TOD) complex in China, which achieves large-scale and comprehensive development above a railway station. It is expected to be put into operation at the end of 2025. After the project is completed, it will only take 15 minutes to reach Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing urban area, 35 minutes to Beijing Daxing International Airport and Tangshan of Hebei Province, and 1 hour to reach Xiong'an New Area of Beijing and Binhai New Area of Tianjin.
