June 28, the 29th Shanghai TV Festival unveiled the Magnolia Awards, with Hu Ge, who plays Abao in "Blossoms Shanghai", winning "Best Actor in a Leading Role" and Zhou Xun, who plays Lin Kan in "Imperfect Victim", winning "Best Actress in a Leading Role". "Blossoms" became the big winner of the 29th Festival, winning five awards, including Best TV Series (China), Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction.

As a phenomenal work, engraved with the imprint of Shanghai's city and era, "Blossoms Shanghai" has caused a sensational effect since its broadcast earlier this year, and is regarded as an artistic orphan. After eight years, Hu Ge thanked director Wang Jiawei for teaching him how to act. In the award scene, Hu Ge choked up and said that before shooting, they had collected old objects from the whole society as props. He also sent some of his mother's clothes, flannel, and sewing machine left behind. Hu Ge wanted to leave his mother's memories through images in this way, and he thanked Director Wang for helping him realize his wish.
With nine nominations for this year's Magnolia, "Blossoms Shanghai" is a work with virtually no shortcomings. "The Long Season" explores the relationship between human beings and time, human beings and destiny within a story structure that involves the change of past events. It shows an intriguing story of human nature and life redemption, with a high reputation of 9.4 points, a record-high rating for domestic TV Series in the past eight years. In the end, the "Best TV Series (China)" award was given to "Blossoms Shanghai", while Xin Shuang, the director of "The Long Season", won the "Best Director" award over Wang Jiawei.

Zhou Xun harvested "Best Actress in a Leading Role" in "Imperfect Victim", where she portrayed a very strong female lawyer and paid tribute to all the lawyers nationwide.

"Best Adapted Screenplay" went to Gao Xuan and Ren Baoru, the writers of "Imperfect Victim". Ren Baoru talked about how she and Gao Xuan have been writing scripts together for many years, and how they started by focusing only on self-development, then wanted to pay more attention to the expression of society. Now they have kind of sense of responsibility to speak up for the disadvantaged, and they hope that this play can convey to the people who have been victimized and who feel that they are too flawed to fight back, that all people are imperfect, and that they need to be brave.
