Yougushentan Scenic Area

Yougushentan Scenic Area is located in Huairou District, Beijing, nestled between Yunmeng Mountain to the north and Huairou Town to the south, with National Highway 111 running through it. The area boasts high mountains, dense forests, numerous streams, and an abundance of flowers and birds, creating an idyllic and refreshing environment. Among the more than twenty natural wonders, the "Shentan" (Divine Pool) and "Feipu" (Flying Waterfall) are particularly noteworthy.
The Flying Waterfall, standing a hundred feet tall, is divided into two tiers. The upper tier cascades down from a steep cliff, with the gushing spring water resembling a dragon emerging from the valley. The massive drop causes a thunderous roar as the water crashes onto the granite cliffs, creating a spectacular display of flying water droplets and mist. The water then spreads over the scales of the rock, forming a wide, graceful curtain of water that cascades down several meters.

Heilongtan Scenic Area

Heilongtan Scenic Area is located in Shicheng Town, western Miyun District, adjacent to Miyun Reservoir and approximately 28 kilometers from Miyun Town. Nestled in the gorge of the Yunmeng Mountain range, the scenic area stretches for 4.5 kilometers, resembling a jade belt adorned with pearls in the form of three waterfalls and eighteen pools.
The first pool, Toutan, marks the beginning of the "Three Waterfalls and Eighteen Pools." The waterfall above Toutan is often graced with a vibrant rainbow due to the mist and sunlight, earning it the name Changhong Waterfall (Rainbow Waterfall).
Tongtian Waterfall is the most distinctive feature of the area, with a drop of about 36 meters. It descends majestically, shrouded in mist that fills the valley. Below Tongtian Waterfall lies Luoyan Pool, formed by the cascading waters.
The terrain here is relatively open, surrounded by mountains, offering a tranquil scenery.
