On June 16 at 17:00, Beijing Meteorological Service issued an orange high-temperature warning. It is expected that from June 17 to 18, the maximum temperature in the plain areas will exceed 37°C between 13:00 and 17:00 each day.
On the morning of June 17 at 9:00, Beijing Meteorological Service issued today’s weather forecast. During the day, it will be sunny with a south wind shifting from force 1 to force 3, and the highest temperature will be 37°C. At night, it will be mostly clear with some clouds, with south to north winds of force 1 to 2, and the lowest temperature will be 24°C.
Beijing Emergency Management Bureau has also issued five tips to the general public for the orange high-temperature warning:
1. Reduce outdoor exposure to high temperatures and avoid going out during peak heat periods to prevent excessive physical exertion.
2. The elderly, weak, sick, and young should stay in cool indoor areas or shaded places and replenish water and electrolytes in a timely manner.
3. Minimize the use of unnecessary heat-generating electrical appliances indoors.
4. Adjust diet, drink water regularly, and seek medical attention promptly if symptoms of heatstroke appear.
5. Those who must work outdoors in high-temperature environments should take necessary protective measures and shorten continuous working hours.
