When it comes to picturesque and unique lesser-known parks in Beijing, here are three that are definitely worth a visit. Each park offers distinctive features.
Qiwutan Park

Nestled amidst the vibrant technology hub near Daoxiang Lake, Qiwutan Park is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. The park is named after Zhuangzi’s Equality of Things philosophy.
The park exudes a tranquil ambiance with its pristine lakes, lush greenery, and a harmonious blend of natural landscapes. Each step reveals a new picturesque vista, leaving you captivated by its serene beauty.
Yudong Country Park

Located east of Yuquan Mountain and west of the Summer Palace, this scenic park blends gardens with rice fields, lotus ponds, lawns, and flower beds - dubbed the “Jiangnan Water Village” of Beijing.
Strolling the golden rice paddies in autumn offers a serene countryside escape from the city. The lotus ponds and lawns also provide lovely photo backdrops.
Shuangxiu Park

It’s the only Japanese-style garden in downtown Beijing, harmoniously combining Chinese and Japanese landscaping as a symbol of cultural exchange between the two countries. The quaint pavilions, bridges, and architecture create a simple yet exquisitely tranquil atmosphere.
Here the Japanese-style Cuishi Garden and Chinese-style Huifang Garden showcase the unique charms of the two gardening traditions, with the structures also providing picturesque photography spots.
