Yongding Park, one of Beijing's newly opened free parks, boasts clear blue skies, mirror-like blue waters, and lush trees, resembling an urban oasis.
Previously the Daxing Jingcheng Golf Club, it ceased operations in 2016 for course renovations. In 2022, it was chosen as the site for the 38th Capital Tree Planting Day. After several years of transformation, it was officially named Yongding Park and opened to the public on May Day this year, symbolizing everlasting peace and harmony.
Yongding Park, along with Niantan Park and Qingyuan Park, form a contiguous area, creating a green landscape of "one river, three areas, and thousands of acres of green lungs." This initiative allows residents in the surrounding areas to enjoy greenery outside their doors and windows, enhancing the beauty of the entire Daxing district.
Entering the park, one is greeted by lush trees, verdant lawns, colorful flowers, and winding pathways, all of which are highlights. The first notable feature is the small hill directly facing the north gate. There is a structure called Jade Ring Pavilion on the hill, which offers panoramic views of the entire park. Below the hill, there is a large grassy area where many people camp and pitch tents, bringing their own food for picnics or ordering takeout to the park entrance. Inside the park, there are stalls selling sausages and ice pops at reasonable prices.
Moreover, the park's children playground is quite luxurious, featuring slides, sand pits, trampolines, swings, and other non-powered facilities. With its colorful design and playful atmosphere, laughter fills every corner. The ample water in the park allow visitors to enjoy scenic views while playing in the water, reminiscent of the water towns of Jiangnan.
This park offers a variety of recreational, entertainment, fitness, and cultural activities all in one place. Bring your family for a visit!
If you're planning to visit, you can take Bus No. Xing 22, Xing 61, or 954 and get off at Daxing Songzhuang East Station. From there, it's just a 200-meter walk east to enter the park through the north gate.
