During the vibrant and blossoming spring season, the tourism in Miyun District has begun. The 2024 Miyun Flower Viewing Map and 8 distinct travel routes are unveiled, inviting tourists from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to join in the spring cultural and tourism feast.
Introducing a new attraction, the "Aerial Check-in at the Great Wall," to develop the low-altitude tourism economy. In order to enrich the cultural and tourism products, Miyun District has launched low-altitude flight tourism routes. Three tourist routes have been launched with Beijing Miyun Mujiayu Airport as the take-off and landing point, covering aerial tours over Beijing Miyun Mujiayu Airport, exploring the Chao He, panoramic views of Miyun Reservoir, and various points along the western section of the Great Wall near the reservoir.
Adjacent to the Miyun Reservoir, Beijing Miyun Mujiayu Airport is the first A1-class qualified airport in North China. The introduction of low-altitude tourism routes not only enriches the travel experiences of tourists but also injects new vitality into Miyun's cultural and tourism industry. In the near future, the Great Wall-Simatai low-altitude tourism route will be opened. Known as the "pinnacle of the Great Wall of China," the Great Wall-Simatai allows visitors to have an aerial view of its magnificent landscape, experiencing the vastness and grandeur of the Great Wall of the Northern Qi Dynasty(550-577). This initiative opens up a brand-new experience for exploring the Great Wall.
To allow tourists to immerse themselves more deeply in the natural scenery and cultural charm of Miyun, the Miyun District Cultural and Tourism Bureau has specially organized the "Enjoyable Check-in: Exploring the Best Viewing Points of Miyun Reservoir" online collection activity. From May 1st to November 30th, people can upload photos and videos of the beautiful scenery of Miyun Reservoir that they have captured through the "Explore Miyun with Your Phone" mini-program. They can use their lenses to capture the beauty of the reservoir as it changes with the seasons. Outstanding works will be selected each month, and prizes will be awarded, allowing more people to witness and share the beauty and charm of Miyun.
In the development of boutique homestays, Miyun District has crafted the distinctive "Clouds and Waters Home" brand. The initial launch includes 24 characteristic boutique homestays. These homestays not only offer high-quality accommodation experiences but also allow visitors to immerse themselves in the rich rural cultural atmosphere while enjoying the green mountains and clear waters of Miyun.
Additionally, various major scenic spots have launched a series of colorful activities, providing visitors with a more diverse range of tourism experiences. Scenic spots such as Beijing W Town, Chateau Yishi, and Qingliang Valley Scenic Area have organized unique activities such as flower deity selection, Hanfu talent shows, stamp collecting games, boat tours with tea tasting, aerial drifting, and flower viewing from high vantage points. These activities allow visitors to deeply experience the unique cultural heritage of the Miyun region while enjoying the beautiful scenery. At the same time, the tens of thousands of mu (hectares) of pear blossoms in Dachengzi Town and Buyaotun Town are blooming in competition, pure white as snow, colorful and picturesque, presenting visitors with beautiful spring scenes.
