Located in the heart of the park, Qunming Lake was transformed from the industrial circulating water pool of the Shougang Blast Furnace. During the winter, migratory birds such as the green-headed duck, tufted duck, and Chinese merganser migrate from Siberia and gather on the lake. Flocks of wild ducks leisurely forage on the water surface, creating a stunning scene that harmonizes with the mountains, blast furnaces, pavilions, and bridges, forming a picturesque “bird paradise”.
