Enjoying the first snow in the Year of the Loong with red lanterns and winter sweet

2024-02-22

The first snow of the Year of the Dragon dressed Beijing's municipal parks in a "white coat". On February 21st, tourists flocked to various municipal parks in Beijing to admire the early snow of the Dragon Year. The ancient buildings, ancient trees, and red lanterns were covered with thick snow, adding a serene and tranquil atmosphere to the parks. As the Lantern Festival approaches, parks such as Taoranting Park and Yuyuantan Park have plum blossoms ready to bloom, attracting visitors and citizens to enjoy the snow and seek out the plum blossoms.

At the Summer Palace, areas such as the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, the Hall of Joyous Longevity, the Long Corridor, and the Seventeen-Arch Bridge are the best spots to appreciate the snow. Decorated with nearly a thousand large and small lanterns, the collision of red walls, gray tiles, and pure white snow creates a picturesque scene, making it a popular destination for tourists to take photos.

Entering the Chinese Famous Pavilion Garden in Taoranting Park, a refreshing fragrance fills the air, as the plum blossoms in the garden are either in bud or quietly blooming, covering the trees with golden hues, resembling a starry sky. The yellow flowers, resembling beeswax, have translucent and crystal-clear petals, casting scattered shadows and demonstrating elegance as they bloom halfway, attracting many tourists to come and capture the scent of spring.

At Yuyuantan, there are about 260 varieties of plum blossoms, which are mainly distributed along the east side of the southwest gate and the green area on the east side of the ancient pine forest. In the morning, many tourists came specifically to photograph the plum blossoms.

In the Wofo Temple of the National Botanical Garden (North Garden), the scene of plum blossoms against the backdrop of red walls and white snow became a popular spot for tourists to take photos. Wofo Temple is a popular destination in the Beijing area to admire plum blossoms, with over 100 plum trees planted inside the temple, and the plum blossoms are gradually entering the viewing period.

Under the backdrop of heavy snow, the beauty of the tree branches is highlighted, complemented by the pavilions and terraces, resembling a traditional Chinese landscape painting.
