On the 20th, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, the Universal Beijing Resort has become a new landmark for culture and tourism in Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (Beijing sub-center). In 2023, the commercial district received approximately 16 million visitors. Driven by the Universal Beijing Resort, the cultural, sports, and entertainment industries in Tongzhou District, where the sub-center is located, experienced strong momentum, achieving an added value of 6.83 billion yuan, a 22.1-times increase compared to 2013.

The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics stated that since the implementation of the coordinated development strategy of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the sub-center has steadily promoted key projects, improved the quality of living and business, and made solid strides in high-quality development. Among these efforts, the fixed asset investment in the sub-center has consistently remained at the level of hundreds of billions. The main structure construction of the sub-center's integrated transportation hub has been completed by 85%, and upon completion, it will become the largest underground integrated transportation hub in Asia. The Central Green Forest Park and the three major buildings (Beijing Performing Arts Centre, The Grand Canal Museum of Beijing (Capital Museum East Branch) and Beijing Library) have been completed and unveiled.

Data released by the Tongzhou District Culture and Tourism Bureau this month shows that the Universal Resort has become the leader in domestic theme park attendance and revenue growth, smoothly entering the fast lane of growth in tourist numbers and revenue. Currently, plans are being accelerated for the construction of phases two and three of the Universal Resort. It is estimated that after the completion of phase three, the number of visitors received annually will reach 30 million.
