Recently, the large-scale immersive musical situation drama "Dream of the Great Wall" produced by Beijing Performance & Arts Group and performed by its subsidiary China National Acrobatic Troupe held a press conference in the Shiyuan Park. Beijing Performance & Arts Group signed a cooperation agreement with Beijing Badaling Cultural Tourism Group, Beijing Shiyuan Investment Development Co., Ltd., and Beijing Jujing Tianxia International Travel Service, marking the formal entry into the implementation stage of the "Dream of the Great Wall" project.

"Dream of the Great Wall" is expected to premiere in April this year. After polishing and modification, it will officially meet the audience in May. The work focuses on the Great Wall Cultural Belt, one of the three cultural belts in Beijing, with more than 2,000 years of historical stories of the Great Wall as the main line, with Badaling as the core scene, integrating music, dance, poetry, folk customs, etc. This work is presented in five chapters, consisting of four sub scenes: "Spring, a Flower," "Summer, a gust of wind," "Autumn, a crescent moon," and "Winter, a snowfall." The main stage is designed in the shape of the Badaling Mountains. The work uses high-tech expression techniques to highlight the unique humanistic characteristics of the Great Wall, using culture to shape tourism and tourism to highlight culture, creating a new hotspot for cultural tourism consumption.

"Dream of the Great Wall" will be performed in the Beijing Expo Park, 12 kilometers north of the Badaling Great Wall. The creative team combined the landscape characteristics of the Expo and the theme of the Great Wall to design a live performance of the tent drama and a historical street. The performance content will select several typical scenes and representative figures from the long history and culture of the Great Wall to connect the unique cultural context and time and space portraits of the Great Wall. The performance artistically reproduces the splendid Chinese atmosphere and moving rich poetry, presenting an immersive "Great Wall Dream" to the audience.

It is reported that "Dream of the Great Wall" is another attempt by Beijing Performing Arts Group to expand the cultural tourism performing arts track and cultivate new performing arts formats and new spaces after successfully creating the Great Wall immersive performance "Dream Back to the Great Wall· Cranes from All Directions" in 2023. During the weekends and holidays from the end of April to the beginning of October 2023, "Dream Back to the Great Wall· Cranes from All Directions" will be performed for nearly 180 times, which is well received by tourists. In the future, the high-quality performing arts resources represented by "Dream of the Great Wall" will continue to support the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the construction of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Sports Culture Tourism Belt.
