2024-02-15

Yesterday was the fifth day of the first lunar month, known as Po Wu, literally meaning "breaking five" in Chinese folk culture. Welcoming the God of Fortune, opening markets, visiting lantern fairs, and eating dumplings... On this day, various mass cultural and entertainment activities were in full swing in Beijing.

Wenyu River Park

This year, the Beijing Wenyuhe Park, in collaboration with "National Intangible Cultural Heritage-Zigong Lanterns", brought more than a thousand sets of intangible cultural heritage lanterns to the capital during the Spring Festival. It has also become the largest lantern festival in the city this year. In recent days, the brilliant lanterns have illuminated the Wenyu River, attracting a large number of visitors to come and enjoy the festival atmosphere. The New Year flavor is even stronger at night.

Beijing Expo Park

The Lantern Art Festival covers an area of 300,000 square meters and combines the traditional intangible cultural heritage lantern craftsmanship with modern technology and interactive lighting effects. The festival focuses on creating 236 sets of large-scale featured lanterns, a 3,000-meter lantern corridor, and 200,000 lanterns. In addition to traditional craftsmanship lanterns, Beijing Expo Park has also introduced technological lanterns that tell ancient stories through panoramic views and live performances, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the charm of traditional culture.
