Inside the North Tianmen Gate of the Temple of Heaven Park, the red lanterns hanging on the ginkgo trees are like ripe fruits, adding a festive color to the arrival of the Chinese New Year. 24 lively and cute IP "Long Long" image decorations on both sides of the road show visitors and citizens the central axis culture, Spring Festival folk proverbs, and the Temple of Heaven national intangible cultural heritage.
According to the person in charge of the Temple of Heaven Park, during the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival in 2024, the park will arrange four landscapes, more than 3,000 lanterns of various types, and more than 130 Chinese knots. The park specially presents the grand scene of the sacrificial ceremony as props, exhibiting 100 sacrificial ceremony props on the Red Stairway Bridge.
As an important node on the central axis of Beijing, the Temple of Heaven was once a place for ancient sacrificial ceremonies and prayers for good harvests. Whether it is the beautiful and colorful paintings on buildings such as the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, or the lifelike patterns on the red stairway reliefs, or the abstract patterns on sacrificial exhibits, the figure of the "dragon" can be seen everywhere. In order to welcome the arrival of the Chinese New Year in the Year of the Dragon in 2024 and create a festive and harmonious atmosphere for celebrating the New Year on the central axis, the Dragon Year Presents New Beginnings: Temple of Heaven Spring Festival Art Exhibition by the China Democratic League officially opened on February 6th at the exhibition hall of the North Shenchu East Hall of the Temple of Heaven Park. The exhibition brings together more than 40 artists from the China Democratic League Central Academy of Fine Arts who have created excellent works on the themes of "Temple of Heaven, Welcoming Spring, and Year of the Dragon". The exhibition runs from February 6th to April 7th, and is closed on Mondays (open on the third day of the Lunar New Year).
The inheritor of Zhonghe Shaoyue will perform for the first time
It is worth mentioning that the Temple of Heaven Park has created a "Intangible Cultural Heritage Gathering for Celebrating the New Year" special Spring Festival park event for the first time.
Zhonghe Shaoyue was a special ceremonial music used for important national events such as state sacrifices, court ceremonies, and banquets. On the first day of the Chinese New Year, the inheritors of Zhonghe Shaoyue from the Divine Music Administration Temple of Heaven, a national-level intangible cultural heritage, will perform for the first time in a parade style, playing rhythmic and joyful tunes such as Dao Ying Yue and Tai Ping Ling, allowing tourists and citizens to experience the charm of traditional Chinese music up close and receive the highest New Year's greetings from the Temple of Heaven.
Tourists can also experience traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage projects such as paper cutting, Tai Ping Yan, windmills, Peking Opera masks, wooden block prints, and knot tying at the park's Spring Festival fair, and learn about the fascinating stories of the Temple of Heaven's intangible cultural heritage "Temple of Heaven Legends" with the guidance of interpreters.
The park will also hold seven science popularization activities around "Spring Festival customs, Temple of Heaven architecture, and ecological culture," which will be conducted through offline recruitment and online live streaming, including "Looking for Dragons and Exploring the Temple of Heaven," "Exploring the Round Altar of the Temple of Heaven," "The Beauty of Harmony in Ritual Music," and "The Auspicious Dragon Presents the Lucky Lamp Shadow." At the same time, a series of "Palace Music Accompanies You during the New Year" exhibitions will be launched, allowing netizens to learn about traditional music through online concerts.
From February 2nd to February 24th, the Temple of Heaven Park will hold a "Celebrating the Festival" special cultural and creative products market on the Fuyan front square, where tourists and citizens can choose their favorite Temple of Heaven cultural and creative products and festival-limited food.

In order to meet the needs of tourists as much as possible, the Temple of Heaven Park will monitor the ticket pool volume and performance verification in real-time, dynamically adjust the ticket pool volume, and return unfulfilled tickets to the ticket pool in a timely manner to provide for tourists to purchase.
In order to ensure that tourists can enter the park and scenic areas quickly, the Temple of Heaven Park's comprehensive service windows will be increased to 16 during the Spring Festival holiday, and the number of ticket verification channels at all park entrances and scenic areas will be increased to 30 to reduce waiting time for tourists.
The "Temple of Heaven Park Smart Guide Mini Program" was launched on February 8th. Tourists can scan the QR code on the Temple of Heaven Park entrance and park guide map to enter the mini program, where they can experience digital services such as park guides, voice explanations, and cultural and creative promotions.
