Brilliant intangible cultural heritage celebrates the Lunar New Year
From February 2nd to February 24th, Yanqing will host over 300 cultural events across 38 categories including "Celebrating the Lunar New Year with Intangible Cultural Heritage", "Bringing Traditional Customs into Scenic Areas", "Lunar New Year Celebration in Homestays", "Bringing Blessings to Villages", "Flower Festival Tours in Parks", and "Exhibitions and Displays". Through attentive services and unique cultural activities, these events aim to offer both visiting tourists and local residents a delightful "cultural tourism feast" during the Spring Festival.

During the Spring Festival, Yanqing District will continue to host the Beijing Intangible Cultural Heritage Park. Through exhibitions and displays of intangible heritage projects such as making Haidian-style kites and Yanqing lanterns, tourists will be attracted to participate in hands-on experiences. This series of intangible cultural heritage activities, which include watching traditional operas, browsing traditional New Year markets, enjoying traditional flower festivals, and tasting intangible cultural heritage cuisine, aim to create a festive and harmonious holiday atmosphere.


Enjoying ice and snow in the most beautiful Winter Olympic city
The Badaling Great Wall will reopen during the Spring Festival period, creating a lively and festive "Great Wall New Year" for visitors. As tourists stroll through the cultural street, they can also enjoy local traditional flower festivals and intangible cultural heritage performances, where the ancient Great Wall and ancient folk customs collide and blend, allowing visitors to experience a romantic, lively, reunified, and meaningful Great Wall cultural year. The ground cable car on the southern route of Badaling will also be open at night, providing convenience for citizens to visit the Great Wall at night.

The Beijing Expo Park Lantern Art Festival showcases a splendid performance integrating technology lighting and live entertainment. "Dragon Soars in Prosperous Times - Spectacular Lantern Realm" will offer visitors a dreamy tourism experience. During the Spring Festival, the 3D exhibition hall of the China Pavilion will feature the naked-eye 3D animated film "Dragon Chanting in the New Year", taking you into a new 3D world where you can interact and make wishes while listening to the dragon's chant, and scan the QR code on your phone to send exclusive blessings for the Year of the Dragon. Additionally, the park will launch the "Revitalization of New Year Flavor Plan" through activities such as the traditional intangible heritage dragon dance parade, interactive blessings from the Five Lucky Stars, collecting stamps on the New Year Flavor Map, and the chance to win a year of free tickets, enhancing visitor engagement.


The Yanqing Olympic Park focuses on enhancing visitor experience by using "Internet of Things" technology to create the country's first 5G smart ski resort, which streamlines various processes such as ski equipment rental, skiing admission, parking reservation, and hotel booking, effectively reducing waiting time for skiing tourists. During the Spring Festival, the Beijing Performing Arts Group will host the large-scale theme performance "Ice and Snow Celebration of the New Year" in the park, and from the second to the sixth day of the lunar New Year, children's plays, traditional Chinese storytelling, and acrobatic performances will be held to add joy and harmony to the capital's Spring Festival atmosphere.

This year's Longqing Gorge Ice Lantern and Snow Carnival is particularly eye-catching, with the quality ice sculptures being three times that of previous years. The Crowne Plaza will offer handmade DIY activities such as making Chinese dragons, New Year dragon headgear, and Chinese knots, as well as parent-child interactive activities, to enhance guest engagement. The Hyatt Regency Hotel at Beijing Expo Park will feature cultural activities such as praying for blessings, lion and dragon dances, writing couplets, making paper-cut window decorations, and making lanterns. Additionally, the Shiguang Changcheng Homestay will lead guests through an immersive experience of the Ming Dynasty's New Year scenes in the ancient streets and alleys; the Xiaoxi Dudu Homestay not only offers the joy of lighting a fireplace and enjoying roasted sweet potatoes and popcorn, but also provides fun experiences such as making roasted chicken, bread, and pizza in a brick kiln; the Yuanxiangli Homestay will organize activities such as hiking along the ancient Great Wall path, listening to stories about the Great Wall, making rubbings, and drawing watermarks... Additionally, various folk flower festivals will travel through villages and alleys, conducting flower festival tours.
On the Lantern Festival day, Yanqing District will host lantern festival tours at the World Expo Park, organizing excellent traditional folk flower festival teams from various streets and townships to conduct flower festival performances, creating a festive atmosphere rich in traditional flavor.
