2024 New Year's Changdian Metaverse Temple Fair

The 2024 New Year's Changdian Metaverse Temple Fair is a collaborative effort between the Xicheng District Cultural Relics Protection and Management Center of Beijing and China Mobile's Migu company. It leverages cutting-edge industry technology such as large-scale immersive digital twinning, digital avatars, high-precision spatial computing, and XR cloud rendering to create a landmark demonstration scene for the integration of cultural tourism and digital economy. This initiative drives the integration of digital technology with the historical and cultural heritage preservation and revitalization efforts in the Liulichang historical and cultural district, promoting the overall protection and utilization of intangible cultural heritage in the area. The project faithfully reproduces the 800-meter streets of Liulichang and Nanxinhua Street, with a focus on iconic landmarks such as Rongbaozhai, Huguang Guild Hall, Anhui Guild Hall, and other historical buildings and intangible cultural heritage brands. It showcases folk activities, market events, and public cultural services. Within the universe, it constructs the historical and cultural charm of the century-old Liulichang district, integrating commerce and culture, and reviving the traditional flavor and bustling atmosphere of the Changdian Temple Fair.

Users can access the Changdian Temple Fair universe space by scanning the QR code. They can explore the entire street district as digital avatars, following the storyline of searching for the "Four Treasures of the Study" as the main narrative. They can learn about the history of establishments like Rongbaozhai, experience intangible cultural heritage, shop at these stores, or enter the Huguang Guild Hall to watch traditional opera and immersive performances. They can also participate in interactive activities such as lantern riddles, writing lucky characters, traditional ink making, and fireworks displays.
