The Megalights Wonderland

This year's "The Megalights Wonderland" covers an expansive area of ​​400 acres, with Chinese traditional cultural elements as the focal point. It features six main thematic modules: "Auspicious Dragon Celebration," "Wenyu Mythology," "Magical Time and Space," "Vast Interstellar," "Enchanted Jungle," and "New Year Blessings," showcasing over a thousand sets of colorful lanterns. Through the dazzling lights, visitors can experience the charm of Chinese culture.

The Zigong lanterns take center stage at this festival. Among them, the "Lantern Illuminate the New Year," standing at a total height of 15 meters, adopts traditional Zigong lantern craftsmanship, crafted by approximately 50 inheritors of intangible cultural heritage over a period of 20 days.

This festival collaborates with several renowned and specialty food brands, presenting a rich and colorful map of Chinese New Year flavors with the brilliance of lanterns, the cultural significance of the New Year, and the excitement of food. Additionally, corresponding performances will be arranged according to the locations of the lantern sets, promising visitors more surprises and joy.

Dragon Brings Prosperity Folk Lantern Carnival

The 2024 Beijing International Flower Port Dragon Brings Prosperity Folk Lantern Carnival will present a feast of light and shadow on February 2nd. Thirty-two exquisitely crafted lantern sets, including auspicious kirins, soaring dragons, a lantern corridor showcasing Chinese cultural icons, and a space-time sports event, will illuminate the main roads of the park, creating a circular tour route. As dusk falls, the dazzling lanterns blend harmoniously with the park's ecological landscape, providing a rich New Year atmosphere at every turn.

During the Lantern Carnival, various traditional Chinese folk performances such as dragon and lion dances, stilt walking, dry boat rowing, yangko dancing, diabolo spinning, and carousel rides will immerse visitors in an authentic park experience filled with festive cheer. Additionally, a diverse array of regional folk snacks will be available, offering visitors a comprehensive experience of eating, drinking, sightseeing, and shopping all in one place.

Beijing Expo Park Lantern Festival

The second edition of the Beijing Expo Park Lantern Festival has officially kicked off, illuminating the capital city with 200,000 lanterns, creating a dazzling night scene. This year, during the Lantern Festival, the Expo Park has created a technological lantern area, using mythical stories as the theme, narrating the ancient mythological figure "Emperor Shun," associated with the Yanqing region. Through seven interconnected stories—"Awakening the Dragon," "Entering the Realm," "Totems," "Flower Rain," "Prosperity," "Agriculture," and "Golden Age"—visitors are transported back to the ancient time.
