This year, six parks in the Chaoyang district will undergo enhancement and transformation. Before the National Day holiday, a 39-kilometer greenway connecting five townships in the eastern part of Chaoyang will be opened. Greenways in the northern, eastern, and southern parts of Chaoyang are gradually connecting to form a network.
The Chaoping Park in Pingfang Township will open this year
In 2023, the Chaoyang District completed afforestation and greening with a planted area of approximately 3,079 acres. The second phase of the Wenyu River Park project in the Chaoyang section, which attracted significant attention from the public, commenced construction in April of last year. Chaoping Park in Pingfang Township is also scheduled to open to the public in 2024.
In 2024, Chaoyang District plans to develop projects such as Fengguan Park in Shibalidian Township and Dongjiao Forest Park. Simultaneously, in conjunction with urban renewal efforts, focus will be on key areas such as the Electronic City North Zone, Dongba Northwest Zone, and Jinzhan Central Zone. Collaborating with relevant departments, the district aims to create showcase projects like the International Talent Park and the Bahe Yidi Harbor Urban Waterfront Core Area, embodying garden-style scenarios.
Chaoyang District took the lead in initiating the construction of the Greenway and Park Circulation Project (Phase 1) in the city, connecting seven greenbelt parks in five townships in the eastern part of Chaoyang, with a total length of approximately 39 kilometers.
In 2024, Chaoyang District will advance the Greenway and Park Circulation Project (Phase 2), connecting the green spaces in the south of Yaojiayuan Road with Phase 1. It will extend further east, connecting and expanding towards Changying and Jinzhan areas. This expansion will include the integration of Changying Half Marathon Greenway and Jinzhan Forest Park into the eastern greenway system, promoting the integrated development of the first and second green areas in the eastern part of Chaoyang.
Vertical greening will be implemented on bridges in the third and fourth ring roads
Chaoyang District is a pioneering demonstration area for the construction of borderless parks in Beijing. As of now, the total area of open parks in Chaoyang District has exceeded 2,100 hectares, with a total of 68 open parks, providing visitors with a more intimate connection with green spaces.
In 2024, Chaoyang District will continue to promote park and road construction. Plans include vertical greening on 35 bridge locations along the third and fourth ring roads, the creation of 10 distinctive urban galleries, and the establishment of rooftop gardens at places like Ritan Middle School. Efforts will be made to advance the construction of all-age-friendly parks at Ritan Park and Xiba River Green Space.
Construction of the Bahe River waterfront space will commence this year
In the first half of 2024, the construction of the Bahe River waterfront space (from Jiuxianqiao Road to Langyuan) will officially start, creating an ecological and cultural landscape corridor for a water-integrated city. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, the construction of the Beixiao River waterfront space (from Jingcheng Expressway to the Fifth Ring Road) is also progressing rapidly. In 2024, Chaoyang District will promote the treatment of urban waterlogging accumulation points, complete the Dahua Kiln drainage ditch governance project, enhance flood control and drainage capabilities around Chaoyang Station, and accelerate the construction of the Bahe River estuary storage and detention area.
The second phase of the Yinxing Avenue environmental improvement will be implemented
