Come to 798CUBE to experience the era of robotic art

2024-01-15

On January 12, the exhibition "Human-Machine Interaction: The Era of Robotic Art" opened at 798CUBE. The exhibition focuses on the integration and symbiosis of humans and machines in artistic creation, presenting the audience with an audio-visual experience of "art + technology" and exploring the infinite possibilities in the era of robot art.

This exhibition presents 42 works (groups) by 34 artists (groups) to the audience, exploring the symbiotic relationship between machines and humans in the current era of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and metaverse technology. The exhibition consists of three units: "Humanoid Robots: Human-Machine Language", "Superhuman Machines: Bionic Life" and "Non-Humanoid Robots: Autonomous Nature" to show the audience the robot art form based on different media technologies.

At the exhibition site, viewers can have interesting interactions with many art works. The main body of artist Li Hang's "Imitation Game" is a baby-shaped robot that can recognize and record the body movements of the audience, and learn more and more human body language from the audience. Artists Su Yongjian and Yin Guang's "Heart Skill" brings the mechanical heart to life. When the audience puts their hands on the heart rate sensor, the heartbeat data of the human body is connected to the code-driven mechanical heart, causing the mechanical heart to beat in response.

Curator Zhang Haitao believes that this exhibition uses robot art to deeply explore the relationship between artificial intelligence and human intelligence, which is highly consistent with 798CUBE's "art + technology" positioning. Li Dongzhen, executive director of 798CUBE, expressed the hope that the exhibition will prompt people to think about how artificial intelligence and robotics will affect the way humans live and work and shape future society: "798CUBE also provides a creative space for artists, scientists and the public. , and jointly explore how technology will inspire new forms of artistic expression." The exhibition will be on display until March 17.
