It was learnt from the news conference of the "Two Sessions" in Shijingshan District, Beijing, that the area is promoting the sustainable utilization of the Winter Olympics legacy. The district will host over 200 major events and competitions, including the Ski Jumping World Cup, the National Public Ice and Snow Season Launch Ceremony, and the Yongding River Marathon. This year, the district will explore a new model featuring "old industrial sites + Winter Olympics legacy + cultural and sports industry" to revitalize Winter Olympic venues, and create more open spaces, cultural consumption venues, and distinctive tourist routes by utilizing industrial heritage resources.

Advancing the construction of a general artificial intelligence (AI) large model industry cluster

Last year, Shijingshan District established the New Science Fiction Industry Cluster in Shougang Park and successfully held the 2023 China Science Fiction Convention. It attracted 184 science fiction enterprises and institutions, ranking the first in the city. The district has now launched the General Artificial Intelligence Large Model Industry Cluster, with the establishment of an Intelligent Computing Center and the release of the world's first ten-thousand-word creation large model "xiaoyao.ai".

This year, Shijingshan District plans to build the science fiction industry cluster to higher standards. It will formulate an action plan to promote the development of the science fiction industry, organize the 2024 China Science Fiction Convention, build the entire science fiction industry chain, and gather over 200 enterprises. The first phase of the Industrial Internet Industry Park will be completed and put into use, and the construction of the second phase will be accelerated. Special policies supporting the development of the industrial Internet industry will be introduced to enhance the park's specialized and international service.

Meanwhile, the district will advance the construction of the General Artificial Intelligence Large Model Industry Cluster, establish an Intelligent Computing Center, put into use the first phase of the cluster, and create an industrial cluster of general artificial intelligence large models for technology research and development, innovation application. The district aims to achieve a revenue of 85 billion yuan.

Establishing a museum cluster in Moshikou street

Last year, Shijingshan District successfully organized the supporting activities of the Beijing Culture Forum and the Cultural Festival of Western Hill and Yongding River Beijing. Fourteen cultural protection projects were implemented, and the ancient buildings in Shijingshan district were renovated. Renovations of eight key courtyards in the Moshikou historical and cultural block were completed. The block was selected as a high-quality development project for Beijing's tourism and leisure blocks and commercial pedestrian streets. The Fahai Temple Mural Art Museum opened and operated, winning the best practice project in Beijing's urban renewal, and the mural art digital exhibition was recognized as an outstanding case of national cultural and tourism digital innovation. Enhancements to the landscape and layout of the Badachu Park were completed, and events such as the Badachu Cultural Festival of Western Hill were successfully held.

This year, Shijingshan District will coordinate efforts to protect cultural relics, transform courtyards, rectify spaces, and introduce new models in the Moshikou historical and cultural block. The relocation and renovation of key courtyards will be expedited, supporting facilities will be improved, the Beijing Mural Research Institute will be established, and a Museum Cluster in Moshikou street will be created.

Meanwhile, the district will orderly advance the restoration projects of cultural heritage sites such as the Xiangjie Temple Scripture Building in the Badachu Park, implement the transformation of the park's sliding track, and carry out projects to improve the surrounding environment. It will promote the relocation of operating points, and build a smart cultural scenic area. The fourth National Cultural Relic Census will be conducted to vigorously explore the value of cultural relics resources and tell the story of Shijingshan district.

This year, Shijingshan District will deepen the sustainable utilization of industrial remains and Winter Olympics legacies. It will explore a new model featuring "old industrial sites + Winter Olympics legacy + cultural and sports industry", revitalize Winter Olympic venues, and fully utilize industrial heritage resources to create more open spaces, cultural consumption venues, and distinctive tourist routes. It will leverage the role of Global Ice and Snow Industry Alliance as a bridge, strengthen connections with international sports events, enterprises, and industry associations, promote the gathering of ice and snow sports industries, and build a new sports base featuring ice and snow in Beijing.

Meanwhile, the district will accelerate the restoration of the Winter Olympic Park, improve its operation and management, and create premium destinations for outdoor activities, cycling, and running. Activities such as the "Happy Ice and Snow Season" and "Ice and Snow Carnival" will be carried out to consolidate the achievements of the demonstration zone for encouraging three hundred million people to participate in ice and snow sports.
