The 7th Beijing Cultural Creativity Competition, with the theme of "forging ahead in the new era, creativity wins the future", held its award ceremony on January 11. In the professional track, six student teams from five Chinese universities won the Student Entrepreneurship Award and six projects won the Rising Star Award. The Competition also saw 54 projects awarded the first, second and third prizes.
Beijing promotes the construction of the national cultural center with the first-rate standard, improving the high-quality development of the cultural industry, in which new cultural modes and achievements continue to emerge, spatial pattern is expanded and optimized, and cultural supply and consumption are mutually reinforcing. Thus, cultural dissemination and influence are significantly enhanced. From January to November of 2023, Beijing's major cultural industries achieved a revenue of 1,827.72 billion yuan, a sharp increase of 14% year on year. There are 11 national demonstration bases for the integration of culture and science and technology, the number of which ranks first in the country. 16 small businesses featuring new cultural forms realized revenues of 1,113.09 billion yuan, an increase of 17.4% year-on-year, accounting for 69.4% of the total revenues of Beijing’s cultural enterprises. The integration of culture and technology has become a new driving force and a new trend in the high-quality development of Beijing's cultural industry.
In this background, the Beijing Cultural Creativity Competition is dedicated to promoting the diversified integration of cultural industries, and creating a cultural exchange and cooperation platform where cutting-edge cultural creativity gathers and innovative wisdom shines through conceptual, practical and industrial innovation. This year's competition was hosted by Beijing State-owned Cultural Assets Management Center, undertaken by Beijing Culture Promotion Center and Beijing Gehua Media Group. The organizing committee of the competition consisted of the relevant commissions and bureaus and the publicity and cultural departments of the 16 districts and the economic development zones, with a total of nearly 60,000 projects(works) solicited, hitting a new record high.
The projects are diverse and rich in content, highlighting the unique charm and innovative vitality of Beijing's culture. The competition continues to make efforts in the fields of transforming project achievements on the ground, mutually promoting the quality of cultural supply and consumption, promoting the high-quality development of cultural industry parks, and optimizing cultural space and urban empowerment. At the award ceremony, 18 organizations were selected to the list of entrepreneurial service center organizations.
Among the participating projects, there are many artistic masterpieces that lead the times, inspire people to move forward and promote social progress, which greatly strengthened the foundation for the development of cultural consumption. The “Tiangong Teenager Training Camp” won the first prize in original script writing track.
The competition focuses on the innovation of cultural consumption channels and scenarios, including light and shadow art experience, immersive digital exhibitions, new space for performing arts, community public culture, and for cultural industry parks. The first prize of the cultural and creative product development track went to the "Chinese Winter Sports" brand derivatives, which has become the most effective carrier to publicize "300 million people participating in winter sports".
The first prize of the new audiovisual content innovation track was AIGC production "Light & Shadow Shooting", which uses the integrated standard process to create an exclusive movie experience and thereby makes a creative cinema meta-universe.
As a large-scale cultural activity in the capital, Beijing Cultural Creativity Competition gathers high-level cultural enterprises, cultural innovation talents in cutting-edge fields, high-quality cultural industry parks, investment institutions and entrepreneurial service organizations, and is an important platform for aggregating cultural resources and promoting the efficient development of industries.
The first prize of the creative design service track was Silicon Cube Liquid Phase Change Cooling Computer, designed and launched by Sugon, integrates the latest research results in high-end computer architecture and high-efficiency refrigeration, and greatly reduces the spatial layout, while creating a scientific and technological space full of human culture.
In the cultural project creativity track, Beijing axis heritage project "Digital Axis" was the winner, launched by Tencent, promotes the "eternal life" of the Axis in the digital world with sustainable digital assets and platforms.
Beijing Cultural Creativity Competition has been held for seven years now. A representative of the expert committee showed, "After seven years of accumulation and growth, Beijing Cultural Creativity Competition has become a place of talent cultivation, resource gathering and cultural innovation in Beijing."
