Shougang Park Winter Carnival

The "Shougang Park Winter Carnival" has been held for two years, and the third edition for 2023-2024, themed "AI Integrated in Big Air, Have Fun in Winter Carnival," has undergone a brand new upgrade.

This carnival retains the coolest snow surfing event and introduces new and thrilling experiences such as snowfield CS (Counter-Strike) and snowfield shooting range.

As distinctive industrial relics, the cooling towers at Shougang will take on new roles this winter. One of the cooling towers has been transformed into a 1000-square-meter real ice rink, while the other has become the center for a technological metaverse, featuring three AI digital technology amusement projects. Visitors can experience lifelike digital technology effects and engage in virtual reality battles.

It's worth mentioning that this year's Winter Carnival has created a giant digital ancient dragon using Metaverse Mixed Reality (MR) technology. Visitors can scan a QR code with their smartphones to take a photo with the ancient dragon in the digital realm.

In addition, the "Shougang Park Winter Carnival" has three dining market areas, bringing together a quick flash street with delicious food, creative trendy items, and special purchases for the Spring Festival. Visitors can enjoy food and hot drinks without having to go far.

Fahai Temple Fried Cake

At the foot of Fahai Temple mountain, 'Fahai Temple Fried Cake' has become a snack landmark in Moshikou. In the past, Fahai Temple morning market was the largest morning market in Shijingshan District and even the entire western Beijing area, selling various delicacies. Fahai Temple Fried Cake was one of the popular stalls.

The fried cakes are divided into two types: the white ones made with sticky rice have a soft and sticky texture, while the golden ones made with yellow rice are rich and chewy. Enjoying the sweet fried cakes while strolling along this cultural ancient street, your steps can't help but become light and brisk.

In addition to selling fried cakes, the shop also offers fried sesame balls made with sticky rice, various flavors of pastries, all of which are delicious. (Friendly reminder: Some vendors may stop selling when items are sold out).

Shijingshan District Stone Carving Museum

The Shijingshan District Stone Carving Museum, based on the municipal cultural heritage site The Tomb of Eunuch Tian Yi, was officially upgraded to the 'Shijingshan District Stone Carving Museum' in August 2023.

Here, there are not only the tombstone carvings of the tomb but also a total of 264 pieces (sets) of stone carvings such as tomb epitaphs, stone tablets, ornamental columns, stone sculptures, and stone archways unearthed in Shijingshan District.

The park has three display areas: the Tomb of Eunuch Tian Yi exhibition area, the indoor fine stone carving exhibition area, and the scattered field stone carving exhibition area. Tian Yi's Tomb is currently the only well-preserved, highest specification, and exquisitely carved eunuch tomb from the Ming Dynasty; the indoor fine stone carving exhibition area showcases a selection of representative stone carving artifacts from hundreds of museum collections, spanning two thousand years from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the present day; the scattered field stone carving exhibition area focuses on displaying scattered stone carving artifacts unearthed in the Shijingshan area, with a grand entrance in the form of a stone archway.

Ancient craftsmen, with their wisdom, freely expressed their ideas and artistic creations on hard stones. Enter this stone carving museum and appreciate the masterpieces of ancient Chinese stone carving decorative art together!

Fahai Temple Mural Art Center

Jingxi Fahai Temple, home to the highest level of Ming Dynasty murals, still displays vibrant colors after nearly 600 years. Now, at the foot of the mountain, a mural art museum has been built, presenting the digitized high-definition content of the murals. Visitors can enjoy an immersive exhibition experience without having to go to Fahai Temple.

At the Fahai Temple Mural Art Center, a series of 4K high-definition screens provide a detailed display of the content of the Fahai Temple murals. The characters and scene dimensions are all 1:1 authentic reproductions, with dynamic high-definition displays of specific details. The exhibition is complemented by detailed voice explanations, allowing viewers not only to see the murals clearly but also to understand their meaning.

As a major highlight of the art museum, at fixed times, all screens in the exhibition hall stop and play an animated video of the Fahai Temple murals. At this moment, the entire exhibition hall, from the ceiling to the walls to the floor, transforms into an artistic whole, providing viewers with an immersive experience.

In addition, the exhibition hall also features a 360-degree fully immersive dome cinema, screening the film "Dream·Fahai." The movie tells the story of Wan Fuqing, the artist behind the Fahai Temple murals, and reflects on the creative style of the literati painters of that era.

Ascending the steps made of bluestones and pushing open the crimson door, a magnificent bronze relief map unfolds at your feet, vividly showcasing the topography and history of Moshikou. The four gate-houses are clearly replicated on the map, recreating the former splendor of this thousand-year-old winding dragon-shaped ancient path.

The exhibition hall is mainly divided into five sections: Fahai Temple Exhibition, Western Beijing Folk Culture Exhibition, Moshikou Exhibition, The Tomb of Eunuch Tian Yi Exhibition, and Cheng'en Temple Exhibition. It is a miniature exhibition that integrates the historical culture of Moshikou.
