As a world cultural and natural heritage, Huangshan Mountain is famous for its pines and rock with unique shapes, sea of clouds, and hot springs. Since the 20th century, creations of Huangshan Mountain have experienced three major upsurges. First, after the 1930s, artists regained the sketching tradition of Chinese painting and reflected on the development direction of Chinese painting by depicting Huangshan Mountain. Second, after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, artists devoted themselves to creation with enthusiasm and created many famous artworks of China’s great rivers and mountains including Huangshan Mountain.
