On January 7, "The Spirit of Ceramics—Tour Exhibition of Jingdezhen International Ceramics Art Biennale's Excellent Works (Beijing)" opened at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum. The touring exhibition selected 100 outstanding works (sets) from 15 countries and regions from the "Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale 2021", covering ceramic works of different techniques, different forms and different styles such as vessels, sculptures, installations, paintings, and videos.

In the exhibition hall, a pile of "old books" are placed on the stand, including classics such as Tao Te Ching, Modern History of China and Call to Arms. The curled pages and yellowed covers make it difficult to distinguish the true material of the works. This is the work Historical Relics by artists Chao Ziyi and Chao Ziwei. Artist Zheng Qinghai's work Thousand Hands has a two-meter-long size, creating "thousand hands" layered like waves, which aroused the audience's admiration.

On the opening day of the exhibition, five artists demonstrated techniques such as ancient ceramic pastel painting, ceramic engraving, modern blue and white painting, drawing expression, and ceramic pinching on-site in the studio, which broaden the audience's horizon. During the exhibition period, academic lectures, dialogues and discussions by well-known professors and scholars from domestic and foreign universities will also be held to share thoughts and possibilities on the innovative development of ceramic art from multiple perspectives.

"Tour Exhibition of Jingdezhen International Ceramics Art Biennale's Excellent Works" is an international cultural communication project supported and established by the National Endowment for the Art in 2023. Lv Pinchang, the chief curator of the exhibition and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Jingdezhen Ceramics University, said that the exhibition showcases the latest creative achievements in the field of ceramic art, shares the creative experience and cases of outstanding artists, and will promote more extensive academic exchanges and cooperation between institutions and stimulate the vitality of innovation. The exhibition will be on display until February 25.
