On the night of the New Year's Eve, the Jing-Zhang Railway Relics Park lit up, creating a beautiful Night! From December 30, 2023, to January 1, 2024, the "Jing-Zhang Digital Art Multimedia Performance" will illuminate the nights of the Jing-Zhang Railway Relics Park. Every evening from 5 to 8, citizens can traverse the century-old Jing-Zhang route using light and shadows.
The first phase of the Jing-Zhang Railway Relics Park opened comprehensively in June of this year, with a focus on illuminating the park. The HaidianDistrict Municipal Group upgraded the park's landscape lighting. Building upon functional lighting within the park, emphasis was placed on the main pathways, scenic nodes, train elements, cultural landmarks, and other areas, incorporating distinctive scene lighting that aligns with the park's characteristics. Following the tour routes, warm yellow, golden, and white lights were selectively used to enhance the night scenery of different areas, symbolizing the history, present, and future of the Jing-Zhang Railway.
At the southwest entrance of the park, picture lights project the park's "Train Tree" symbol onto the pathways, highlighting the entrance space and enhancing the nighttime portal effect.
Following the illuminated track, visitors reach the Rail Forest attraction where embedded lights change colors, embellishing the Rail Forest with a magical nighttime ambiance.
On the "Wood Pile Wall," lights are strategically arranged to complement the existing rail direction, projecting images of steam trains, diesel trains, electric trains, and high-speed trains, each representing characteristics from different eras.
The thematic wall of the Jing-Zhang Railway Museum is artistically illuminated with warm tones using a fading technique for nighttime presentation. The trees in the background are bathed in colored lights, creating an overall atmosphere that seamlessly integrates the foreground and background.
Numbered as 0023, the "Oriental Red Diesel Locomotive" lights up. The bright track extends into the distance, and red and yellow light lines accentuate the silhouette and volume of the train carriages, infusing a futuristic sense into the traditional green-skinned train. This creates a picturesque nighttime spot for visitors to capture memorable scenes.
The pedestrian bridge spanning the Fourth Ring Road in the park has also undergone nighttime illumination. Atmosphere lights are arranged inside the framework of the bridge, adding a romantic and warm color to the steel structure of the bridge.
Walking through the Jing-Zhang Railway Relics Park under the night sky, every corner is adorned with bright points, creating a transition between history and the future through the interplay of light and shadow.
In the sunken plaza beneath the elevated walkway paying homage to Zhan Tianyou's "人" (ren) shaped railway track at the Jing-Zhang Railway Relics Park, a digital art multimedia performance unfolds in the night. This performance takes visitors on a cultural railway journey through time and space.
Starlight projections and colored lights cover the entire circular plaza, creating a dreamlike ambiance. On the curved main screen, 3D mapping projection technology is employed to generate a vibrant display of colors for the digital art multimedia performance.
The lighting systems in the circular plaza area are all equipped with intelligent control programming, featuring integrated linkage of sound, light, and electricity. From Zhan Tianyou and old photographs to construction scenes, old stations, landscapes along the old Jing-Zhang line, and the evolution from locomotives to high-speed trains, the lighting tells the century-long story of the Jing-Zhang Railway through a journey across time and space. It allows visitors to experience the eternal charm of Jing-Zhang and the glorious moments between the past and the future.
Additionally, to meet the diverse needs of visitors, the Jing-Zhang Railway Relics Park has opened two mobile boxes for tea drinks and shops, adding a lively atmosphere to the park. In the future, interactive and cultural creative mobile boxes will be gradually introduced.
