2023-11-23

Baodu Zhai, formerly known as Baodu Mountain and also known as Caoshan in ancient times, is located in Luquan District, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, 288 kilometers away from the capital Beijing.

It faces the North China Plain to the east and the Taihang Mountains to the west. With an altitude of 580 meters, it has a towering peak and steep cliffs on all sides. From a distance, it looks like a giant Buddha lying on its back, with lifelike features. The mountain top is flat and open, with 660 acres of fertile land and a soil layer up to 66 meters deep. It is a unique and beautiful place with lush vegetation, like a paradise on earth.

To facilitate visitors going up the mountain, Baodun Zhai has built a passenger cableway with a total length of over 1800 meters. It is the only one in China with a transfer station and no intermediate tower, and operates as a fully enclosed round-trip passenger cableway. The highest point is suspended at 271 meters, becoming a major landscape here.
