Japanese-style garden in Shuangxiu Park
Shuangxiu Park, located on the edge of the North Third Ring Road, is the only garden architecture in Beijing with Japanese style.
Shuangxiu is derived from "the elegance and beauty of Chinese gardens" and "the beauty of mountains and waters in Japanese gardens". It is a combination of Chinese and Japanese garden styles, and also a symbol of cultural exchange and friendship between China and Japan.
The park has a Chinese-style garden "Huifang Garden" and a Japanese-style garden "Cuishi Garden". Cuishi Garden has an antique and mysterious design, and was designed by the late famous Japanese garden designer Mirei Shigemori. Mirei Shigemori also designed the courtyard of the Adachi Museum of Art, which is known as "the most beautiful garden in Japan".
Cuishi Garden itself is not large, but the layout of the scenery is exquisite. The small wooden bridge, which is representative of Japanese gardens, has faded its original color, but the Japanese atmosphere is still present, full of a sense of story.
