Chanfu Temple is located in the Beihai Park. According to Emperor Qianlong’s interpretation, “Chanfu” means praying for blessings for his mother and his people. Since the 17th year of his reign, the emperor worshiped Buddha and held ceremonies in this temple on the 23rd day of the 12th month of the lunar calendar.
