Appreciate the Persimmons | Wuta Temple

2023-11-14

In early winter, persimmons brighten up the streets, bringing good luck. Enjoy persimmons on branches, taste persimmon-flavored foods, and start a propitious journey! The Forbidden City, Lama Temple, Wuta Temple, and No.0 store of Daoxiangcun are all worth visiting.

Wuta Temple, also known as Beijing Stone Carving Art Museum, is located in the ruins of the Zhenjue Temple of the Ming Dynasty and is a thematic museum displaying Beijing's finest stone carvings and sculptures. The museum collects more than 2,600 pieces of Beijing stone carvings, including precious statues from the Northern Dynasty, tombstones from the Tang Dynasty, stone carvings from the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, stone monuments from the Qing Dynasty as well as calligraphy carvings by famous artists, etc. The museum has a wealth of historical reference value.

The scenery in early winter is always majestic and quiet, and walking into the Wuta Temple you will get a sense of "Zen". Some large stone beasts were waiting at the side, showing their majesty. In the courtyard, two ginkgo trees with gnarled branches and trunks covered by the evening sun are as brilliant as the frosted maple. The fruitful treetops of the persimmons look most lively. A flock of gray starlings leap and sail, it's their feast.
