On October 30th, the Sports Culture Development Center of General Administration of Sport of China issued a notice on the selection of the "2023 China Sports Tourism Excellence Project". The 2023 China Sports Tourism Excellence Project Declaration received a total of 810 projects recommended by 31 provinces, cities, and districts.

After the selection,177 Chinese Sports Tourism Excellence Projects were selected nationwide, including 64 scenic spots,29 routes,65 events, and 19 destinations. In this selected list, Yanqing District's Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort was selected as the 2023 China Sports Tourism Excellence scenic spot; the Yanqing cycling sports tourism route was selected as the 2023 China Sports Tourism Excellence Top Ten routes.

Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort

Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort is 70 kilometers away from downtown Beijing, located in Zhangshanying Town of Yanqing District of Beijing, a national ecological environment demonstration zone and one of the three major competition zones for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. It is the first ski resort in the surrounding areas of Beijing and is the largest in scale, with complete equipment and facilities, and the first ski resort that adopts artificial snow-making in China.

Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort has a snow-making area of 200,000 square meters, with 10 trails, 1 advanced trail, 4 intermediate trails, 4 beginner trails, and 1 barrier-free trail, all of which are equipped with international advanced snow-making equipment, with spacious trails, lots of variations, and stable snow quality. The highest point of the ski resort is at an altitude of 1,360 meters, with a vertical difference of 300 meters, the maximum slope is 30°, and the average slope is 16°, so that it can satisfy the needs of skiers at different levels. There is one double chairlift and four towed lifts in the field, which can transport 600 skiers to the mountain per hour and are guided by domestic experienced coaches on the spot.

Since the preparation and organization of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Vanke Shijinlong Ski Resort has been upgraded comprehensively to turn the ski resort into a "four-season operation" amusement park, riding on the wave of the Winter Olympics. Hundreds of winter ice and snow sports events have been held here, and hundreds of thousands of skiing enthusiasts, citizens, and tourists have gathered here to enjoy the fun of ice and snow in the most beautiful Winter Olympic City. At the same time, Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort, with its own rich snow and ice project resources, integrates snow and ice sports with cultural tourism in depth, showing the great development potential of the snow and ice industry.

Yanqing Cycling Sports Tourism Route

The cycling sports tourism route selected for Yanqing is Beijing Shiyuan Park (Beijing International Horticultural Expo Park) - Gui River Forest Park (West) - World Grape Expo Park - Banquan Sports Park section, cycling enthusiasts can ride here to visit the Beijing Shiyuan Park, traveling among the flowers, climbing Yongning Pavilion, viewing the Great Wall in the south, and looking at the Haituo in the north. You can also visit Yanqing's mother river, the "Gui River", in the natural oxygen bar, and appreciate the landscape rice paddies.

Yanqing's ecological environment is of excellent quality, with a forest coverage rate of 61.8% and a nature reserve area accounting for 39.05% of the total area, making it a "National Forest City", "China's Natural Oxygen Bar", and a veritable "Back Garden of the Capital".

During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Road Cycling Competition, the track at the foot of the Badaling Great Wall was known as "the world's most beautiful track", since then the Yanqing bicycle cycling activities have embarked on the road of vigorous development, bicycle cycling in Yanqing has become a low-carbon, environmental protection, health, and fashionable sports. In 2011, the "Beijing International Cycling Tour" was officially settled in Yanqing, and became the largest public cycling activity brand in Beijing. As the host of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo and one of the three major competition zones for the 2022 Winter Olympics, Yanqing has built dozens of special cycling routes over the years, and many cycling enthusiasts from all over the country have become a beautiful landscape on the streets of Yanqing, with tens of thousands of cyclists riding in the district all year round.

Up to now, Yanqing District has the One-Hundred-Li Landscape Corridor in Qianjiadian Village, Gui River ecological corridor, Gu Long Road, Xianglong Road, Longqingxia surrounding, Dazhuangke Township, Shixia, and the Sihai Pearl Spring eight cycling routes, the total length of the routes has been more than 300 kilometers.
