The Tianjin Ancient City Museum is located in Nankai District, Tianjin. It is situated in the traditional residential compound of the Xu family, known as the Xu Family Courtyard. The museum was established in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China period.The museum was officially established in 2000 and opened to the public on December 23, 2004, to commemorate the 600th anniversary of city construction and defense.
