Khachaturian International Violin Competition Held in Shijingshan, Winners to Compete in Global Finals

From October 6 to 7, the Pre-selection Stage Competition of the 19th Khachaturian 120th Anniversary International Violin Competition was held at the Cultural Center of Shijingshan District, Beijing. There were 24 outstanding violinists from all over the country at this stage. Their performances have demonstrated young Chinese violinists's talent and passion and everyone endeavored to get a place in the Global Finals.

The jury of the competition features a strong lineup, with Professor Tong Weidong, head of the Orchestral Instruments Department of the Central Conservatory of Music, as the Chairman of the jury of the Pre-selection Stage Competition in China, and other renowned musicians, including Huang Chenxing, Huang Yi, Song Qiang, Xie Nan, Xiao Fei, and Yu Yong.

This year's event is a top international art competition hosted by the Shijingshan District People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the Khachaturian Foundation, and organized by the Shijingshan Culture and Tourism Bureau, the Organizing Committee of the 19th Khachaturian 120th Anniversary International Violin Competition, and the Jingse (Beijing) International Education Science and Technology Co., Ltd, aiming to promote the construction of Shijingshan District as a center of international communication as well as a meeting hall of an international city.

Moving forward, Shijingshan District will invite famous musicians at home and abroad to perform a number of high-level concerts, carry out international cultural exchange activities such as culture and art week with European countries and others, brighten up the city's cultural life with music, build bridges of people with the world by art, demonstrate Shijingshan's music style to the world, and further enhance Shijingshan District's international influence and popularity.
