Last night, the 2023 Liangma River International Art Season kicked off. Chaoyang District invited domestic and foreign artists and art enthusiasts to hold 38 high-quality cultural and artistic events in the next month, creating the first outdoor performing arts-themed city living room in Beijing.

At night, the heart island of Chaoyang Park was illuminated by lights, and the opening ceremony of the art season was staged in the shell theater surrounded by weeping willows. On the big screen, a landscape painting slowly unfolded, and fine mist rose from the lawn. Artists from China Oriental Performing Arts Group played the folk music "Beautiful Scenery of the Land".

Many of the artists performing at the opening ceremony came from "national-level" art troupes, such as the Chinese Oriental Performing Arts Group's folk music group, the Lan Hui Chinese Style Dance Troupe, and the Central Opera House. The program included instrumental performances, dance, scene performances, and sextets.

This performance marks the opening of the Liangma River Waterfront International Art Season. This year's art season will last until mid-November, with a total of 38 high-quality cultural and artistic activities held, both domestic and foreign.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the reform and opening-up, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Art Season integrates traditional and international elements, inviting performing teams from Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, and other regions to Beijing to hold cultural exchange activities such as performances and bazaars, including the China-Central and Eastern European Cultural and Art Carnival, the Russian Kiters "Your Face Sounds Familiar" immersive flash mob, and the large-scale ice art performance "Ice Ribbon Dream" from China and abroad.

The art season will also hold public welfare performances such as the Beijing Citizen Music Hall in 2023 and People's Weekend Grand Stage and Spark Project, injecting artistic vitality into Chaoyang District.

"The Liangma River is a landmark of culture and tourism of Beijing." The personnel in charge of the Chaoyang District Cultural and Tourism Bureau introduced that the Art Season is carried out in the form of "1+N", where "1" refers to the Liangma River and "N" refers to the parks, commercial areas, cultural and creative parks along the Liangma River. Cultural performances will be staged on the Liangma River International Style Waterfront during the art season. Flash mob performances will be performed at the Blue Harbor, and the Chaoyang LIVESHOW, and a series of micro performances at the Yansha Pier. The Chaoyang Park will hold the 2023 China-Central and Eastern European Countries Cultural and Art Carnival, and the 751D·park will host the Latin American and Caribbean Music Festival.
