The Beijing International Flower Port Exhibition Area of the 2023 Beijing Chrysanthemum Cultural Festival has opened its gates, welcoming visitors with a vibrant display of chrysanthemums in gaudy colors. This event will continue until October 23.
The Beijing International Flower Port, adorned with flowers, boasts a total exhibition area of nearly 130,000 square meters. It showcases over 70 species and 1.5 million plants of chrysanthemum and chrysanthemum. Additionally, there are over 100 varieties of fine chrysanthemums, in all more than 6,000 pots, such as 'Heaven and Earth in One Color' and 'Golden-Backed Crimson'.
The outdoor exhibition is divided into six major sections. In the 'Joy in the East' section, two well-designed courtyard offer a blend of relaxation, therapeutic surroundings, and a feast for the eyes. Incorporating artistic flower arrangements and mini exhibits, it provides visitors with a new flower-watching experience. Within the garden, visitors can stroll along flower-viewing paths, taking leisurely walks or capturing photos while enjoying the colorful blossoms and embracing the boundless vitality of nature.
The indoor exhibition is located in the Butterfly World, showcasing more than 40 both domestic and international outstanding large chrysanthemum varieties. Several miniature landscape features have been created using compositae plants, ferns, herbaceous flowers, and sculpted stones. Butterflies fly amid the flowers, creating a delightful view and attracting numerous visitors pausing to take photos.
Throughout the cultural festival, a diverse range of activities has been synchronized to create a thematic event, offering citizens a grand floral celebration in autumn. The 'Chrysanthemum Feast' food market, situated in front of the Butterfly World square and the southern side of the Ruiyunping area, brings together a variety of specialty foods from across the country. It encompasses different cooking methods, including steaming, boiling, frying, baking, and grilling, to satisfy the visitors' taste.
A special highlight of this event is the Dopamine Parade, where performers dressed in high-saturation colorful costumes appearing in the scenic spot during holidays. They engage closely with visitors, elevating the ambiance of the park with vibrant colors.
Within the park, a calligraphy and painting exhibition is held, featuring members of the Yanshan Cultural Association from Shunyi District. These artists create calligraphy and ink paintings on-site, and their works with the fragrance of ink, attract numerous visitors who pause to observe and capture these artistic creations in photographs.
